I won Honorable

I won Honorable Mention in State piano competitions!!

XD And I'm very happy.

Anyways, long story short, I just got back from State competitions and found out I won Honorable Mention!! YAY! All my hard, painful work *sigh* I feel accomplished. Now, I know Honorable Mention doesn't seem like much. Sure, Winner or even Runner-up would've been fine with me! ;) But considering how many people I was competing against in my grade, Honorable Mention is a great accomplishment. Last time I made it to State, I didn't get anything! 

In order to make it to State level, you have to first perform at a different competition in March. Depending on your skill and age, you had to memorize 1-3 lengthy piano pieces (I did 3, and for State competitions, it wasn't just pianists performing. People were lugging around violins and cellos and all sort of instruments.) and play them in front of a judge. If you signed up saying that you wanted a shot at State and received high scores, you get chosen to go to State! Like I did! Yay! XD

So, anyway, I made it to State, which, in itself, is very nerve-wracking in preparation. AND I ACTUALLY PLACED! I'm so ready to be done with those pieces! I've been playing them since OCTOBER. *happy dance* 

Sorry for my rant! This may be supremely uninteresting to you, this little segment in my life, but I just needed to vent my happiness to someone else. : )

I played Chopin's Waltz in C# minor, Op. 64, No. 2, Bach Praeludium(not the Fuga that goes with it, though) 2 in C minor, BWV 847, and Kuhlau's Sonatina No. 3 in C Major (but only the first movement) Op. 55. They're really great pieces, but as I said, I'm happy to be done with them! XD
