I've been wanting to get an Instagram to talk to my feiends, because I have literally no other means of communication. My mom said if my dad is fine with it, she's fine with it. I don't have the courage to ask him cuz I'm scared he going to say no. I have older silblings, and they don't have an inst a either, but they don't want one.

I'm also kinda behind in school (I'm homeschooled). I'm slowly catching up, but it might take a while. Should I wait until school is over to ask? And how should I ask?

If the reason you want it is to communicate to your friends, I think that is very valid. Maybe bring it up when your mom is present to relieve tension? I think he will be more assured if you have a private account, and only let your friends see your feed.

So. I lost my cat a few days ago. We've been looking for her every single day, and we put out a ton of posters. She has a microchip and a collar, is there anything else I could do?

Here I am again....Check your garage (or shed) if you have one. Because when we lost our (now deceased) cat Isis when I was about 5 or 6, we couldn't find her anywhere and I basically cried my eyes out...and then my dad opened our garage to get a tool or something and she bolted out...apparently she'd been locked in the garage for a couple days, accidentally.

Annnd....two years ago, our cat Brooklyn, who we'd had for about a week (supposed to be cat-sitting for someone) went missing, which was bad because she was an indoor cat (by no choice of her own, her owner had lived in an apartment) and had no street smarts or anything....but it was spring, and she'd been sneaking out when we opened doors and stuff. Just into our backyard. Anyway, we had no idea where she went, and we were about to put up posters....and then our neighbor, who lives alone and is very solitary and kind of shy, looked over our hedge and asked if we had a cat, because apparently he'd been scared out of his wits the previous night when a cat suddenly bolted out from behind one of his appliances and freaked him out. Long story short, he'd been mowing the other day and his kitchen door was open, Brooklyn was in his yard and scared of the lawnmower, she ran into his house and ended up hiding in there for a couple days. Both the cat and the neighbor were downright terrified of each other, and my mom managed to coax Brooklyn out. I guess this doesn't really help but.....

So I guess, check your garage/shed/whatever, and if you have any animal shelters nearby you could go and ask them if they've seen her. The microchip and collar would definitely help if someone finds her....

....And in conclusion, I'm really sorry. I really hope you can find her.

Yay! For anyone else with a lost pet, try putting food or water out to tempt them back home.

Does anyone have any audition advice? My school is doing Legally Blonde, and I'm super nervous. I am one of the older girls, so I really want to try and get a main part.

Always, always smile! Unless you're singing a sad audition song or monolouge. Even if you are nervous, fake confidence, have good posture, smile, and be outgoing. Also! Practice every chance you get! Practice makes perfect :) If you make a mistake, don't worry about it, and just keep going. I'm sure you'll do great, tell us how it goes!

Pick a song that is in your range. Try not to use common songs, like On My Own and Maybe This Time. Lastly, make it your own! Sing with emotion and facial expression.

Legally Blonde is a great show!

Good for you!

I would recommend practicing in front of someone multiple times and ask for honest critique.  Also, make sure you don't have any habits like tapping you're feet or squinting (unless it's part of a character, of course.) A director once told me that one thing she really looked for was good acting and emotion in the audition song, but I'm not sure if that's as big for other directors.

I've done several auditions (though I am by no means an expert--I know a lot about mistakes mostly because I make them!), and I learn something new about them each time I do them.

If your audition involves choosing a song and making a one-minute (or shorter/longer) cut--

1. This has already been mentioned, but don't choose overdone songs, new songs, or popular songs. For younger girls, this is really anything from Annie. For you, it would probably be songs from (the already mentioned) Le Mis and Wicked. Don't sing anything from The Greatest Showman--I know a director who had several people sing songs from it. She mentioned that those songs aren't very good audition songs anyway.

2. When it comes to choosing a song, don't just choose a song you like--choose a song that you either feel comfortable with, or a song that showcases your range.

3. I've never watched Legally Blonde or heard that much about it, but try to choose a song close to its genre of music. (Is it just normal musical theater, or more modern?)

I hope this helped!

Second on the On My Own thing...

I did a group audition once, and TWO PEOPLE before me sang On My Own, and one of them sung it way better than me.

Legally Blonde?! I love that show! A good song for Elle is Pulled from The Addams Family, and a good song for Paulette is Adelaide's Lament. Hope you do great!!! :D

Just to warn you, Omigosh You Guys will be stuck in your head for the rest of eternity.
