Book Eragon vs.
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Book Eragon vs.
Book Eragon vs. Movie Eragon
What does everbody think on this subject? I've heard several people think the movie stinks, but personally I don't think so. I think that the book and the movie are definitely different, but I pretty much like both.

Sorry, but I didn't really like the movie--the books was much better for me.:):):)

I agree, they left out almost half of the book! There really isn't much room for a second movie now.

I liked them both a lot, but the movie definitely didn't follow the book's storyline. What were they thinking when they killed off the Razac-things? They didn't leave much of an opening for a second movie. =(

I know... about the only thing they shared was the title. I think it was good as a movie, but if you're judging a movie by how closely it follows the book, then it was not very good.
Like you said, Hannah, I think it was sad that they killed the Ra'zac right away; what will they do for a second movie? (Or maybe there won't be one. That would be sad, too.)

Didn't see the movie and didn't read the book.

I am warning those who loved the movie beforehand to not read this entry, because I feel very strongly on the subject.
I thought that the Eragon movie totally destroyed the Alagaesia that I learned to love in the Inheritance series. Not only did they change the sequence of events, but they changed the entire story! First, there were not any scenes with Galbatorix in Eragon. Second, there is no mention of dragons dying if their Rider dies in the book. I am going to stop here because otherwise I will rant on forever. To sum everything up, I went into the movie theater really excited to see a movie based on my favorite series, and came out fuming mad and horrified at all of the people who helped mutilate my wonderful book. I agree that on its own, the movie was okay, but as a film based on a book, it was a disaster.

They definetly are different and they are both pretty good, but the books are better.
