Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Not Feb 2019,
Not Feb 2019, but I wanted to say hi, soo....
Hey! It's Indigo!
I doubt anyone remembers me at this point. I joined in July 2014 (ish?) and formally left the CB about a year or two ago, I think, though I'd been very iffy about actually posting/commenting for a while even before that.
I changed and matured a lot during my time as a CBer. I joined as a ten year old whippersnapper who didn't understand grammar nearly as well as I thought I did, and left changed, I think, for the better. The CB allowed me to meet and befriend people who, although I might not talk to them now as much as I used to, have helped me grow.
I've heard it said that if you want to get better at writing, what you really need to do is just write, and keep on writing. It was in the positive enviroment of the CB that I found a safe space to write up character after character, to try out different styles, to try making up worlds and plots. And it was the CB that gave me the friends who introduced me to and supported me through Nanowrimo.
I haven't been writing as much original work as I used to, most of it is fanfiction. For the first time in a couple years, I even skipped November Nanowrimo. However, I am planning on doing Camp, and I was prepping for Camp (and procrasinating on homework haha) I realized that without the communities that have shaped me, I wouldn't have been able to get so far. It's easy to let dreams be just that, and never force them to grow in something more concrete, but through Nanowrimo, I've written more than 150,000 words of original work. (eeee that's actually really incredible when i think about it... and its probably even more since i didn't count Camp.)
The friends I made in the CB also helped me through some other more personal issues. When I was bullied by school "friends", it was my CB friends who persuaded me to let go of that toxic group, even if it meant I was lonely for a short time. The CB community has taught me to be creative, ambitious, self-confident, and willing to take the unusual route if that's the best way to go.
Anyway, I know all that is kind of ramble-y. I guess I just wanted to agknowledge how much the CB has shaped me. To all of you CBers currently- keep being creative. (If you're a writer and don't already know about Nanowrimo, check it out. April Camp starts in three days, so I doubt you'd want to go for April Camp, but you could always do June. If you already have a camp and want to send me a message, my username is lucy_blue. I don't generally check it, but I'll be on a lot for April Camp, so I'll probably respond quickly in April at least.)
Keep supporting your friends, and being supported in return. Keep on dreaming, but don't let those dreams be only dreams.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, everyone! *bows out*

IIIIIINNNNNNDIIIIIIGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *Slams into Indigo and knocks her over* Hi! I'm so happy to see you! Thanks for visiting!
I'm technically not allowed to do NaNo (although I never really talked much about it with my parents) but are you on the YWP site or the 13+ one? I always wondered. Cayke told me that she knows you (and Will, BHR, Katy, Air, etc) through Nano and elsewhere. I assumed it was the 13+ site since you all are but I'm curious.
Anyway. Hello, glad you popped in to say hi, and I love ya!
(March 29, 2018 - 10:42 am)
Eee, I'm so flattered you guys remember me! Honestly I'm grinning like a loon right now XD
Well, when I was under 13, I did the YWP version (this was before the re-do). To be on YWP you have to be under 18, and some of my friends aged out, and I didn't like the new site very much (plus I KEPT. FORGETTING. MY. PASSWORD.) so I made an account on the adult site, but I didn't actually use it, and I don't even remember what the password to that one is so like... *shrugs*
Yeah, we hung out on Nano (and other places) some. Back in September 2016, I even met up with Air in-person, since it turns out we live near each other. (We met in a public place, told our families, brought adults, etc. etc.) Lately, I haven't been talking with them as much, as school's been kind of stressful and whatnot, but yeah. If you guys ever need/want to tell me something, the best way to get to me is probably one of those folks... though like I said I haven't been spending as much time online.
Aww, thank you! <3

You got to meet Air??? That's so cool! :)
'Course we remember you, you broke about 50 hearts when you left, you cruel person! (*Spit take* Sorry, didn't mean it that way.) But we definitely remember you.

Hi Indigo! I don’t remember you(I joined ‘bout a year and a half ago) but I’m glad you’ve come in to say hi! This post also doubles as a top, so TOP!
(March 29, 2018 - 2:05 pm)
INDIGOOOOO!!!!! Heyyyyyyy!!!! *body slam hugs*
Good to see you around again! Er--*goes back and actually READS post*
Aw, no problem. And congrats on 150,000 original words--that's a HUGE achievement! :D I'm doing Camp NaNo too. Good luck with it! :D
(March 29, 2018 - 2:21 pm)
Hey, Indigo! I don't think I actually met you before, but whatever. Hi!
(March 29, 2018 - 2:37 pm)
Aww, you guys are making me feel so appreciated! <3 <3
Thank you so much! I'm really proud of myself, but I'm also not planning on stopping anytime soon. It takes me about an hour to write 1k, and I've heard you need to work 10,000 hours at something to be an expert... so my current arbitrary goal to head for is ten million original words. Obviously that would take years, but... *shrugs* I like writing. Maybe some day, adult Indigo will come and tell you guys about how she wrote ten million words. XD
I hope you have a really good time doing Camp! Like I said, if you want to PM me, my username is lucy_blue.
(March 29, 2018 - 6:53 pm)
Oh! That's you! Hi! Um. Sorry. I don't believe we've met. I am Viola?, eccentric artist and sometimes-writer. And it is almost midnight. I think I have to go to sleep now, before I get distracted again. My username on YWP is Lycaella. Bye! *drops iPad like it's a slow poison*
(April 3, 2018 - 10:46 pm)
INDIGOOOOOOOOO
*pops up*
Heeeeelllooooo!
I'm still here!
(March 29, 2018 - 8:52 pm)
INDIANA JONES! HI! Gosh, I missed you so much and I wasn't able to catch you on the cb group chat and its been insane but Jeez! I hope you're doing great!
I understand about the writing part. It's sort of died down for me as well, and I think I draw more than I write now. I still love making stories in general though!
I hope school is getting better for you. High school is utterly stressful for me, but I get through it! I know sometimes it will get really tough but just get through it ok?
I really hope life is doing good for you, and even if we don't talk as much as we used to I hope we can get to chat once in a while!
(March 29, 2018 - 9:36 pm)
Hi!! I'm doing pretty well, thanks. :)
I'm glad you still love making stories, and it's great to hear you're still drawing.
I'll try. Yeah, me too <3

Hello, Indigo. I don't believe we have ever met before, but your post was really beautiful and inspiring. Congratulations on your 150,000 words! That's an amazing achievement. And good luck on Camp NaNo.
(March 31, 2018 - 10:24 am)
Eeee thank you <3
(April 4, 2018 - 10:02 pm)
HI INDIGO!!! I'm so glad you stopped by! I don't know if you remember me ( I would have been a little obnocious child who didn't know the ways of the internet then), but I definently remember you. I'm going to be doing Camp tomorrow and I'm scared stiff because I don't have any sort of plot. Besides that though, I'm glad you're visiting!
(March 31, 2018 - 11:46 am)
I do (admittedly vaguely) remember you!
By now you've already started Camp (which is also why I'm so late in replying to all these comments) but don't worry! Often just exploring a world can lead to some really interesting ideas you can always use some other time :)
