Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Let's play house.
Let's play house.
There are AE balls and AE chat threads, but Nymph and Sea Glass never like to go out, not where there are people (as do I). So this is a thread about what they do all day, maybe a sort of diary or log of their introverted/antisocial activities.
There might be RPing. They might talk. They might ramble on for entire posts directed at no one about whatever it is they're thinking. I don't know, but feel free to join.
Try to stay away from shipping and drama; this is about your AEs as beings with complex characters doing stuff in their spare time. Or what they do in the time that isn't spare. That might include social interactions, or it might not. Post the name of the AE of focus at the beginning of each comment, and develop.

Arithmancy practicing her transcripting of real-life stuff to paper, this time featuring Braoin, which means he will inevitably start doing weird art involving a lot of blood or freaking out about something he can't change (somtimes Arithmancy pities her AEs' merciless fate):
I pick up a sheet of glass and drop it on the floor. It makes a pretty sound. I take up a jar of red ink, splash it about. Then blue ink. Arithmancy, who is sitting on the lone metal chair, tells me something about our budget. I ignore her and photograph it. I'm bored... I bang my head against the wall and fantasize about binge-watching Miraculous Ladybug.
I. Am. So. FREAKING. Bored....
I find an abandoned WWZ reenactment of Zitelle's.
I am soon very happy engineering a story for one of Natalie's too-powerful OCs. While I work I sing "Let It Go."
Isn't it wonderful that Xeix makes a sort-of diary?

I read the Ancient China book and find it boring. I am now sitting and getting unnerved by Glass staring at me....
I wouldn't say I hate Glass. He's just unnerving. The only person he talks to (outside of his telepathic conversations with Arithmancy which none of us others can hear) is an OC of Natalie's that stayed over a few nights while Arithmancy wrote him into a story. The OC's name was Cave Canem.
I am hiding from Glass in my room. Yet I still feel his stare bore through the walls...
I play some music to distract myself.

I remember this thread, though I don't think I ever posted on it. I definitely should have, so I'm doing that now! This should be good for my gang.
Bean~
I sit at the kitchen island, painting my nails. The polish Quill lent me is a pretty indigo color that looks nice with the white blouse I'm wearing today. I hear yelling from upstairs as I softly blow on the nails to dry them, and I wonder what Ace has done now.
A minute or so later, Quill storms into the kitchen, looking frazzled. "Have you seen Harper?"
I nod. "She's in the library reading, Basil's with her."
"Alright, good." Quill shakes her head in exhasperation. "Ace just painted a picture."
I smile. "Well, that's nice. You're always telling him he needs more hobbies."
"He painted a picture on my bedroom wall."
I do my best to stifle a giggle, and Quill glares at me. "Oh, don't worry," I say. "We're redoing your room soon anyway." She rolls her eyes and pulls a bowl of blueberries out of the fridge. She sits down next to me and examines my nails.
"Ooh, those look good, Beanie!" she says, Ace's mishap apparently forgotten. "That color looks great on you."
"Thank you," I respond, standing up. "Now, if you don't mind, I'm going to go reprimand Ace. No offense meant, but I think he'll listen to me better than he'll listen to you. Don't eat all the blueberries."
Ace~
"ACE INKWELL, WHAT ON EARTH WERE YOU THINKING?" Quill bellows as I sit nonchalantly on my bed.
"We didn't have any canvases," I say with a shrug, and her face turns red as she tries not to scream. She turns and leaves the room, and I smirk. She's just jealous of my masterpiece. I was spicing up the room, right now it's just GREY and BORING. Quill's been saying for months that we're going to redo it, but come on, when does anything around here get done?
I pull out my origami kit and play around with some blue paper, trying to make a swan. It ends up looking more like a duck, but I toss it onto my finished origami pile anyway. The door to my room opens, and when I look up, I see Bean enter.
"Did Quill send you up to yell at me?" I ask. "She did a pretty good job of it herself."
"I came of my own accord," she says, looking around. "Goodness, Ace, you need to clean this room."
I shrug, kicking a t-shirt away from my bed. "It's fine, no one comes in here much except me."
Bean sits down next to me and gives me a look- it's one I get often from all three of the girls, the I'm-here-to-tell-you-how-irresponsible-you've-been-and-I-foolishly-expect-you-to-take-it-to-heart look. "Why did you paint on Quill's wall?" she asks as though she's speaking to a toddler.
"Because I felt like it?" I try, and she narrows her eyes. I sigh. "Fine, fine, I don't know why, it was irresponsible and I won't do it again. Happy?"
"Sort of. You're also going to apologize to Quill."
"What? Why? Do I have to?"
"Yes, you have to. She's very angry at you, and you know what you did was wrong."
"Whatever."
"Why don't you do something for her to make it up to her? Like that banner you made us, that was so sweet."
I'd made Bean and Quill a bi flag banner for the foyer to surprise them at the beginning of the month. I nod slowly. "Alright, I can do that. How about I... bake her something?"
Bean shakes her head. "That's a good idea, but I don't have time to supervise you."
I scrunch up my face. "I don't need to be supervised."
"Think back to the time you burned down the kitchen and say that with a straight face."
Harper~
I sit in my favorite armchair with my legs tucked under me, where I've been for the past hour, my eyes skimming the page of my book. I've only got a few chapters of The Deathly Hallows left, and even though I've read it too many times to count, I can't stop flipping the pages. Every once in a while, I look up to check on Basil, who's happily flying up near the library's large windows. The library is her favorite room in the house, something we both share. She likes the windows, I like the books- and the privacy.
I reach out to the right, feeling around for my mug on the table. Finding it, I raise it to my lips only to find that it's empty. I must have finished my tea without realizing. For a moment, I'm torn between staying to read and getting more tea, but I realize that if I leave now, I can just prolong the reading experience. So I mark my page (with a bookmark, I don't believe in dog-earing books, not like Quill, the heathen) and stand up, stretching my legs.
I set my book on the table, take my mug, and call, "Basil, I'll be back in a minute!"
"okay hrpr!" she twitters. I leave the library and make my way to the kitchen, smoothing out my skirt, which is wrinkled from being tucked in the same position for so long. When I reach the kitchen, I find Bean, Ace, and Quill all sitting at the island with a mostly empty bowl of blueberries.
"Hey, Harp," Bean greets. "How's your book?"
"Very good," I reply, putting water in the kettle to boil. "I thought I heard yelling earlier, is everything alright?"
"Yeah, Ace was an idiot, but what else is new?" says Quill. "But it's okay, look! He made me a duck!" She holds up an origami bird, that looks somewhat like a duck.
"That's very nice," I say politely, then pour hot water over my tea leaves. I set it on the counter to steep and take the last stool at the island. I grab the last handful of blueberries, earning a dirty look from Quill.
"I have to go soon," she says. "I've got lots to do. How does next weekend sound for redoing my room?"
"Sounds good, if we actually get around to it," Ace says, and Bean smacks him on the arm.
"If you're going out, can you get more blueberries?" I ask, and Quill nods.
"Sure thing. Bye, guys!" We chorus our farewells, and our CBer leaves. I turn to Ace as I go to get my tea.
"So, what in the world possessed you to paint on Quill's wall?"
~~~
That was... really long, but actually a lot of fun. If you can't tell, our family bickers a lot, and Ace does stupid things. Just a day in the life of the Inkwells.
