OCD

I’m not going to post under this anonymously, obviously, because I want to feel connected when I talk about this to you guys. 

I have OCD. Actual, legitimate, OCD. Not the “Oh no, I have to clean EVERYTHING and be neat all the time! OCD,” I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Now, I’m not saying that cleaning and being neat and orderly isn’t a part of it, but that’s not all there is. I don’t like #OCD or when people joke about it, because it’s actually really serious to me. 

Basically, I’m going to use a real life example. I’m walking down the sidewalk, and my left foot steps on a crack. Now, for normal people, they would keep walking, wouldn’t notice it, wouldn’t feel it or be bothered by it. I FEEL it. So I do the same to my right foot. That way the feelings are the same. However, if my right foot touches it on a different part, then my left foot has to do the same until it evens out entirely. 

The best way to explain this is in the name itself. I OBSSES over making it even, so COMPULSIVELY I make it even. Other things I do is I set my glasses down 5 times before going to bed and make sure that the right temple is over the left. Always the right over left. 

Why?

People that have OCD that do these things like I do are afraid something bad is going to happen if we don’t. I’m paranoid I’ll go crazy if I don’t, because I won’t be able to stop thinking about it. 

I’m just making this as an “OCD awareness” sorta thing, and a rant. 

Please don’t use OCD as a light excuse. And thanks for listening. ^^
