Hello, ye denizens
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Hello, ye denizens
Hello, ye denizens of the Chatterbox. I am not one of you, as you
may be able to tell. I come from a land known as MuseBlog, of which
many of you have heard. I have but a simple message for all of you.<!--break--> It’s called MuseBlog, not the MuseBlog. I’ve been there for about two and a half years, so I know rather well what it’s
called, and I thought I should set you all straight as well.
Furthermore, it’s not the Muse equivalent of the Chatterbox. Muse has its own web page quite similar to this, with its own version of the Chatterbox. MB is an unofficial site run by a few people who (sometimes) write for Muse
on contract. I should warn you, though: if you’re thinking of migrating
there, proceed with great caution. The format is thoroughly different
and the general rules stricter, and many people from both the
Chatterbox and the Town Hall (the official Muse
forum) would find the populous somewhat unfriendly to them if they use
improper spelling, grammar, capitalization, as well as excessive
off-topicness or immaturity. The culture of MB is also quite different than that of
the Chatterbox, and takes many months or years to learn. My sincerest
apologies if any of you take offense at anything which has been said
here today; I felt it was my duty to educate the masses about MuseBlog.
Have a nice day.

And, speaking of being off topic...
I sense somehow that time differences are not the point of this particular thread.
(June 20, 2009 - 8:28 am)
Oh, those happen EVERYWHERE. On all of the most traffiked threads, there are at least one of those.
(June 20, 2009 - 4:59 pm)
I concur.
I don't know common practices on the Chatterbox, but on this thread, posts pertaining to being on the CB as the same time as another are very strongly discouraged. Such posts simply take up space and waste the admins' time. Please, be considerate.

Some people like to do that thing "HI, SO AND SO!!!". Although strict on-topicness, un-randomness and perfect spelling may be the culture on MuseBlog, they are not the culture here.

Heck, we're always off-topic, and we basically invented the concept of randomness. On the general thread for this month, we've already discussed Giant Space Squid, a concept known as the GAPAentity, cats sitting on heads, braces, kayaking, making Iceland our base for world domination, bathing suits, being struck by lightning, roller coasters, drug overdoses, Spam, cars, and whether Austria exists (we think it does).
(June 21, 2009 - 10:09 pm)
Not to mention the Game, the Woven Beyond, the future of America, the French conjugation of the word "pwn," bunny cyborgs, clarinets, and sentient elevators.
(June 21, 2009 - 10:42 pm)
And heffalumps and woozles on the Romance and Relationships thread.
(June 27, 2009 - 12:58 pm)
I made a thread on Giant Space Squid HERE! JOIN THEM!
(June 22, 2009 - 5:24 am)
I think it does too. I just came back from a play of The Sound of Music!
(June 22, 2009 - 8:30 am)
Yes, more believers! (MB-related joke)
(June 26, 2009 - 1:03 pm)
No, they are not the purpose of this thread, but somehow we tend to get off-topic sometimes. Welcome all Musebloggers! The Chatterbox (in my opinion, Laura, there's no consensus on the use of THE before Chatterbox, I use both terms intermittently), and Museblog are very different places, we should respect that and not get heated. I really should check out MB... It seemed so confusing when I went on though, and lurking, in my opinion gets boring.
Cheerio!
