Cù Chulainn brushed her hand across her cheek, smearing red paint all over it as she applied the finishing touches to the hotel. After a two-day argument over who should paint the place, it was decided hurriedly that Cù was the most artistically inclined, so WOULD SHE HURRY UP AND DO IT BEFORE THE GUESTS GOT HERE?! She sighed as she turned around on the lift - the first boat was already in sight. Cù certainly wouldn't be able to freshen up before the guests arrived. Oh, well - she hoped they thought paint was just the newest fashion statement.

Cù took down all her painting supplies, removing the lift from the face of the hotel, just in time for the first boat to unload. She shrieked, "GUYS! THEY'RE HERE!" and quickly ran out of the newly painted front doors. "Welcome, my friends, to the Hotel Alterum!"

Feather spritzed the back of the bookshelf with wood cleaner and swiped a rag across it until all the dust from that spot was gone. This was the final book in the library to need dusting - the rest was sparkling new and clean. She couldn't believe the old owners of the hotel could have left the library in such horrible repair. Shelves were rotting and falling, books stacked with cobwebs in between the pages, and there was DUST. EVERYWHERE. Even the few things draped with cloths had still accumulated the vile thing, and Feather had spent a week just trying to get all the dust off. She couldn't even count how many rags she'd gone through. But, at last, it was done!

That left Dev to clean most of the hotel, though. Feather worried about how much of the job he'd gotten done . . . 

"GUYS! THEY'RE HERE!" shouted Cù Chulainn, and Feather hastily put the book back in its place. Her lamenting would have to wait. Plastering on a smile, she hurried outside. Maybe I'll get lucky and Hobbes will be here.

Devil Owl switched off the vacuum, absolutely exhausted. Not only was it about a million degrees, but he was making it even warmer by giving off lots and lots of hot air. It wasn't fair at all that he had to vacuum the whole place. He had the hardest job of all three of them. All Cù had to do was slap around some paint (though admittedly, she had helped him clean the first few days), and Feather was probably curled up in some corner, reading. He sighed. Well, at least it was done; now Cù wouldn't bash him over the head with a hurley-whatever.

Speaking of which, she was shouting something. Dev jumped, quickly wrapping the cord of the vacuum up and shoving it in a broom closet, neatness be danged. He tore downstairs and burst through the doors just in time for Cù to finish her welcome. "YEAH! I'M HERE TOO!" he yelled, just to keep up appearances. Feather entered just after him, rolling her eyes. Why was she rolling her eyes? He had to yell, or else they wouldn't hear him.

Cù Chulainn will be instructing swimming and lifeguarding, because no one else volunteered.

i walk down the gangplank of the boat, heading towards a large building. "The Hotel Alterium",

it read in exquisite script. Cú had definetly been the one to write it- if Dev had, it would've been misspelled bubble letters with smiley faces. a few aes were at the door. i recognized them as the hosts, Cú Chulainn, Devil Owl, and Feather. "Welcome to the Hotel Alterium!" Cú smiled.

        bursting in behind her, Devil yelled "I'M HERE TOO!                                                           

"hello, hi, hey, cú, dev, fea,". i greet them.

"Fea?" feather asks.

"all the other owls have one-syllable names or nicknames, why not you too? anyway, where's my room? i need to unpack."

Cú points down a hall. i head down to a small room that seems made to suit me. the walls are  painted ice-blue, and the furniture is black lacquer. a piano, which i have been learning how to play, sits in one corner, under a large bay window with red curtains. two windowed doors, also with red curtains, are on either side. i pull back the curtain and see another ae unpacking. i pull out my shrinking suitcase from my pocket and unshrink it, then i start to unpack before the "get to know you.

Pzun~

{After talking a bit with Dev, I head to my room, which has green walls and seems jungle themed. I toss my suitcase on a epic looking bunk bed, then change into my swim suit and follow a stream near the hotel that Cú said lead to the swimming area. The stream opens up onto a cool lake with beach chairs around it. I jump into the lake with a splash and swim until get to know you, jumping off of increasingly high diving boards.

After a while, I hear Dev yell "Come to the main courtyard for Get to Know You! Drying off, I head to the courtyard, where I see a circle of other AEs. I sit down and wave to all the other Aes. This vacation thing seems pretty cool!}

NOTE: I hope you don't mind that I came up with some stuff for the hotel, I just couldn't do much without doing it and it was pretty fun to come up with everything as well.

The guests of the Hotel Alterum sit in a circle and play games where they get to know each other.

Guided Tour - M

Guests are separated into groups of five and shown around the hotel.

DAY TWO

Blaster Shooting - Part One

The elementary pie blaster will be provided. For more elaborate weapons, we ask you to supply your own.

Library Organization

Teaches the Dewey Decimal system, how to color-code, and how to alphabetize properly; goes through how to label books and read them, navigate large libraries, and use computer search systems.

Swimming

Goes over basic swimming strokes, floating, how to properly use lifejackets, and diving.

DAY THREE

Blaster Shooting - Part Two

Provides the more advanced techniques for blaster shooting, including moving targets.

Book Club

The novel will be selected on day one during the Getting to Know You.

Lifeguarding

Goes over important life-saving techniques and more advanced swimming strokes.

DAY FOUR

Parkour

A gym will be refurnished with proper parkour obstacles so participants can learn gymnastics techniques they will certainly use in later life.

Naturalist - Part One

Participants examine specimens of plants and pictures (and some real-life examples) of animals to learn how to identify and discern them in the wild. 

Boating

Participants learn how to sail on the lake.

DAY FIVE

Tae Kwon Do

Education on important fighting techniques.

Naturalist - Part Two

Participants go on a hike in the woods around the hotel and try to apply the skills they recieved yesterday.

Fishing

Teaches how to cast, catch, and identify fish.

DAY SIX

Psychology

Psychology is separated into branches. The session can teach either human or animal psychology. Whichever one you choose, you'll come out with important skills for managing later life with your partner.

Cooking

Participants learn how to cook exotic dishes from around the world with the best materials available. Fire extinguishers will be provided.

Rock Band

Participants are asked that if they intend to break strings, drums, or other objects that they provide their own.
