Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hey, nerds!I

Hey, nerds!

I'm not an adult yet, so I can't be kicked off the CB (but soon, shh, don't tell the Admins) and I wanted to see how you guys are doing. I recognize a good number of you and some I don't, but I'd like to meet you.

For people who don't know who I am, I'm an ordinary person, I guess. I used to come on the CB from 2011 until today. I live at home still because of a disability but I am going to a local college in the fall. I am fluent in English and Japanese now and do translation work, although I don't get paid for it. I tutor and do get paid for it (yikes, I have a job. That's spooky).

Fun fact! I stopped growing at age 12 due to health issues and am forever stuck at a 12-year-old's height. Medical science has allowed me through a pretty normal puberty, though, so even though it's very late, my voice has started getting deeper. Is this happening to any of the guys here yet?

Hope you're all doing well. Please tell me what you've been up to.

Hi, Ruby! It's good to hear from you. FYI, we don't kick people off due to age.

Booksy! I saw you came back recently too! I know exactly who you are. I've been doing pretty well now that school is out. How are you?

Thank you for the compliments and the warm welcome. Your creativity and writing skills are admirable as well.

*jaw drops* Oh my goodness it's actually you. Mind. Blown.

It is so nice to meet you! I know this might be really weird, but you're a bit of a legend to me. Rosebud was the one who introduced me here originally, and she would always talk about the amazing ski lodges you guys would do. It's really cool to finally meet you! I'm Autumn, an everything obsessed fangirl who loves to play music, read, and weirdly enough, learn stuff about the economy. (I know, strange, right?)

Also, I have a tendancy to ramble. As you've probably noticed.

Anyways, it's really nice to meet you!

Hi, Autumn, nice to meet you! Rosebud is awesome, I'm glad she convinced you to come on here.

That's super cool that you're interested in economics! Teach me something about the economy! I never took an economics class before.

It's really nice to meet you too! Agreed, Rosebud is awesome XD

Something about economics...... Well, for one thing, retail stores are a dying breed. Amazon just bought Whole Foods for 13.4 billion dollars, so everyone's interested to see what they do with that and the economy as a whole is not really going anywhere. (lol, I learn all this from a podcast called marketplace. I am so weird XD)

Hello, Ruby! Welcome home! You might not remember me, but I remember you. You were the very first person ever to aknowledge me on a Compliments Thread. I really can't express how wonderful that was for me, that this cool CBer everyone knew actually noticed my writing. I think it was the first time I really felt like a part of the CB. I missed you a lot and I'm glad to hear from you! I hope you're doing well. Wow, college? Cool!

I'm fifteen now, almost sixteen. In ten days, ack! I should be looking at colleges, but I really haven't. People ask me, "Oh, where are you going to go? What are you going to major in? What are you going to do with your life?" I DON'T KNOW! But I think I can probably ask you those questions, seeing as you're actually going to college. So what are you going to do?

How has life been for you? I'm so excited you're back!

Hi, Cockleburr! I do remember you. I'm really glad I made such an impact on you- your stories and ideas have certainly impacted me.

Your birthday is 2 days after mine! Happy early birthday! You're going to be so old, wow. You don't reeaaallly need to look at colleges yet. It's okay if you don't know.

I want to major in computer science and work with programming. I do it a lot on my own time and have been really passionate about it.

I just got my IB scores (IB is a program I did in high school, like AP but with more European things added to it) back and they turned out way better than I expected! So I am over the moon right now.

Hello, Ruby! I'm elementgirl, but you can call me EG. I joined in late December of 2016. I like reading, writing, and competitive sailing. The older CBers talk about you ALL THE TIME, and it's great to finally meet you!

It's great to meet you too, EG! Wow, competitive sailing sounds like a lot of fun. Have you won any awards from it?

Yes, two. They're both third place, but I'm super proud of them anyway.

Hello, Ruby! Welcome back! I remember you, but it's okay if you don't remember me. A tutoring job? Cool! Your cat is really cute! I love animals, and I have two dogs, a hamster, a beta fish, a blue parakeet, a sheep, and ten chickens! Nice to see you again!

Hi Rubyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!

You might not remember me, but I remember you! It's really nice to see you again. Can you give me some advice on writing Ski Lodges?

I came near the end of your generation. So I remember Joe and Melody and Blue Fairy and SE and everyone too. It would be really nice to see them all again, but I get to see you! That's plenty. I was so excited when I saw your post that I didn't really say anything interesting at all in my first comment. I'm doing pretty well! I'm going to be in 8th grade next year. I just got back from Alaska and Oregon which was pretty cool. I'm doing lots of writing. I mean, LOTS. I'm writing a novel, a short story, and a medium story. I have a fat cat too. I'll see if I can find a good picture. Yes! Here's one of my cat Piglet and my dog Kiko.
