OMG

I'm getting pointe shoes!!!

For those of you who don't know, pointe shoes are a special type of shoe in ballet. Getting them is the biggest milestone for any dance student, and I've wanted them since I was nine. It's a lot of hard work, and you need to be twelve (and good at ballet!) before you get them.

I'm going to the store tomorrow, I'll say what kind I get etc.

I'm so excited!!! :D

Yay, congrats, Mei! My mom loved pointe - not the shoes because they hurt - but the honors of doing pointe. I know you will do great, have fun! I've never done ballet, but to be where you are I know it takes a ton of hard work to earn.

I've never done ballet but it looks awesome, like you. The shoes look cool to me. My mom has never done ballet.

Congratulations, Mei! I never knew you did ballet. My friend does, and she's hoping to get pointe shoes this summer or fall. Anywayz, YAY FOR MEI!

congrats! One of the only reasons I know about pointe shoes is because my little sister got them a while ago.

Wow Mei! That's amazing! I know the feeling you have right now. I felt it 3 years ago, when I got my first pair. My advice to you is to push through the pain. This is going to hurt like you don't even know. You'll discover so many muscles you didn't even know you had, and your feet will ache for days on end. But push through it! The end result is TOTALLY worth it. I've been on pointe for three years now, and I can promise that it gets better! You get stronger and more endurant also. We believe in you Mei!! You got this! Also, what dance school do you go to? I'm twelve now (almost 13--July), and I've already been on pointe for a few years. Did my school just start early?

I guess all dance schools do things differently. I've been on pointe since last January. 

Also, congratulations, Mei! Pointe hurts at first but it's really, really, fun. Gel pads are your best friend and don't be worried when you get blisters. Everyone does. You're going to be great!

Congrats, Mei! A couple of my dancer friends just got on pointe recently, so I know how hard it can be. (They talk about almost nothing else :) ) Good job!
