Horrible Haircut advice?
Horrible Haircut advice?
~~~
Ten minutes or so ago, my mom brought me to the kitchen, saying she was going to trim my hair, like she always did.
A few minutes into it I heard her mutter a few distasteful words under her breath, and my guess was that she messed up a bit.
A bit.
A bit being that my hair doesn't even touch my shoulders anymore.
HELP!
What on earth do I do!? I don't normally leave my house in the first place but when I do...I can't let people see me, and I'm even going to summer camp soon, with people I know! HELP!
Well, my hair doesn't touch my shoulders either and it isn't bad. Maybe you could add a few layers and cut a strand shorter to the side to get side bangs (which is basically what I have). Or you could just keep your hair in a messy ponytail with strands that don't fit hanging around your face, which can also look pretty cool. If all else fails, I suggest a large hat. Is it even? Because if it is even, then you would just have normal short hair, in which adding a layer would help it not look really poofy if it is poofy. If it isn't even, you could try cutting it shorter or going for an angled look. It could be that you aren't used to seeing your hair that way and others don't think it looks bad. Try messing around with your hair to see what looks the best.
I have to agree with what GreenMango said. Maybe you just aren't used to it? I've never had short hair before, do I'd think it awful if I did get it. Again, Mango gave the best advice I can think of. Just take a deep breath, smile, remember it shall grow back soon, and who knows? Maybe it looks really cute on you to other people and you don't even know it yet!
Hi Icy. I'm a normal CBer, but I'm using a pseudonym so I don't give away anything much about my appearance or gender.
If the haircut is really bad (crooked, chunks of hair missing in random places, etc.) I suggest you either just deal with it (I had to go to school once with a lopsided haircut) because surprisingly, in my experience most people don't notice. Or, you wear some hat, bow ribbon, headband, etc. to cover up anything you don't want people to see or you're embarrassed about. Or maybe you can do your hair a different way than you normally do to make it less obvious.
If the haircut is just shorter than usual, you may find that you end up liking it. I have a pixie cut, and I've had my hair like that since I was five. I rather like it. However, I've never put my hair in a ponytail, or braided it, or anything like that. The longest my hair has ever been was a short bob. It's not that bad. You'll find that it doesn't take you as long to brush your hair in the morning, and you don't have to worry about washing it as much. In my opinion, short hair is easier. So if the haircut isn't lopsided, choppy or bizarre, maybe look on the bright side. Also, remember; Hair, especially kid's hair, grows fast!
I.. well I have a bit of a situation as well, but luckily everything's fine. I was bored yesterday and I took some kitchen scissors and cut a bit of hair. Then it was uneven, so I cut a bit more to make it symmetrical.. now it's 2 inches shorter and doesn't touch my shoulders, but I really love it! Everyone is always worried about letting kids cut hair, but my mom said it looks lovely and I did a better job than she would have.. My mom was fine with it as well (as long as I vacuumed up the hair), but I won't brag too much..
When I first cut it I really didn't like it, but what I ended up doing was pulling most of it to the side! I don't quite know how to explain it, and I had a side part before, but this is like a really dramatic side part where it's mostly pulled to one side but there's no clips or pins or anything. I don't know if this makes sense, but this is what I did. Make sure it's even as well, even if it makes it shorter, if it's not even it'll look worse than any short style. Hope I could help! :P
Just ask your mom to even it out. Short hair is nice in the summer; long gets hot. A bob like your Kyngdom charrie or a longer pixie cut should work, depending on how your mom messed up, and eventually it'll grow back.
This might be late, but I'm not normally on here. Give us updates soon!
UPDATE:
Phew! My mom fixed my hair (It's nearly exactly the length of Icy's hair on Kyngdom, just above my shoulders) and I still want that green hoodie. Cosplaying the entire time I wear it makes me feel better. Then again, I'm going to need to put my contacts in....
People are saying my hair looks thicker, which I guess is true, and I'm less embarrassed, but still a little sheepish. However, it makes a great story when people ask about the haircut I get to blame it all on my mom
I JUST REALISED.
It's the exact length of Icy's Kyngdom hair...
Mom, can I buy a green sweatshirt?
You could always wear a fez!
Just sayin'
I am glad it's ok now, Icy! Who knows, maybe you're going to start a new fashion!
Don't panic! It's happened to me before. I went wild with EVERY TYPE OF short hairstyle I could find. First, I tried bob. It's sooo cute and looks great. Try that, and then you could always let it grow again. That works, too.
