I have some bad news. It shocked me too. You guys, I can't believe this

 

 

Avriel Kaplan is leaving Pentatonix.

 

I'm pretty sure that they need a new bass now. I mean, recording layers of Scott is only going to work for so long.

Time for a PTX marathon...

I know. I'm really sad.

And Spotify was DETERMINED to make me cry--I put my PTX playlist on shuffle, and ALL it would play is stuff like Light in the Hallway! Which honestly is one of my favorite songs, but not now! :'(

WHHAAATT?! I clicked this believing it was going to be amazing news D:

But noooo... Avriel is absolutely amazing! What will Pentatonix do without him? Like you said, they can only do layers of Scott for so long. It won't work forever. I hope whomever they choose next (if they do) will be just as amazing. Or even better - maybe Avriel will change his mind!

 

So how come he is leaving? Anyone know?

He did a FB post about it. He said that the pace of the band was a bit too fast for him.

Yes, my friend texted me about it last night. I mourned last night. XD Avi's voice is so smooth and beautiful. He will be missed; I hope whoever replaces him (if they choose to implement a new member) is just as amazing.

Oh... That's terrible. It seems like all music groups lose a member eventually. I never imagined it would happen to PTX. Avi was wonderful and will be dearly missed.
