AEs Explained
So this little thought popped into my head when I was doing the "Two Truths and a Lie" game. It was something about my having done surfing or not for fun, and I explained it related back to why I chose Zeon's passion for surfing. Then I thought, "well, there is quite a lot about my AEs that is or isn't me". And that is why this thread is here!
The point of this thread is to explain about your AEs. Why did you make them a certain way? Do they represent something about you or your life? I'll go on with mine, for instance.
- Zeon's passion for surfing? Came along because I have always wanted to surf, but I have been diagnosed with a medical issue where I will never be able to be in water. So my love for hopefully learning to surf? Washed away like the waves. I thought at least Zeon could hold the passion that I dearly wanted.
- Quill's passion for her albino sea turtle? This represented a few things. One, her missing Mew, because an albino baby sea turtle and MewFour are both so unique compared to the world. But a big reason was because again, the ocean in my case. And because I was really missing one of my closest friends, who was so unique, yet so far away. Like the ocean that Quill's turtle could not survive in, so close yet far away.
- Quill and Zeon being twins? I have always wanted a twin. Why? Because twin connections are some of the strongest in the world. They could have only met each other at birth, be taken away, never hear of having a twin, and yet still feel like they are missing a part of them. Do Zeon and Quill get along all the time? No, not at all. But neither do twins. It is just something, again, that I always wanted in my life. At least I have four younger, brilliant siblings.
- Poofball? Why the name and the... yeah? Well, it's kinda like that girly little tangent I went on. I am often seen so much of a tomboy, that I need a bit of "girliness' as people tell me. Poofball is, well, poofy. And pink, with large navy blue spots. It's about as girly as I would ever get.
- Zeon's green eyes? Haha, this is again, part of something I always wanted. My best friend has green eyes. I have always wanted green eyes. Always. So, I thought, my favorite AE (yes, Zeon's my favorite) gets green eyes. Just that special little gift.
- Quill's dark personality, black/dark blue wings, and dark clothes? Represents the darker side of me. Occasionally, I get really down and mixed with the fact that I am quite and shy, I tend to appear a lot like Quill. I keep to myself, speak in a negative manner at times, and just is... ehh. As for the clothes and wings, dark blue and black is my favorite color combination. Her dark red and black wrapped shirt shows more of a yogi side of me. The dark red was to pull away from being all blue and black, yet still be dark.
- Zeon's green, half shaved hair? So... I once knew this girl online who I was pretty good friends with, and I knew her really well. She once dyed her hair rainbow colors and half shaved it, like Zeon's but longer - and rainbow, of course. I loved that hairstyle in general, and it paid tribute to her in a sense, now that I think about it. The hairstyle is nothing I'd ever do, but I loved the boldness and the hidden beauty. Whether for girls or boys, it just really fit, so I thought to add it to my bold and wonderful AE, Zeon.
- Zeon turning into a bug at random? Ahh... That was a little something extra I added. It could have been inspired by another AE, I do not recall. I know a big reason was because I was bored, and it symbolically matched Zeon's personality. He was a bug, a pest, and he also got super excited, or nervous, at times. At these peak moments, he'd transform without meaning to. It was just something that really fit his personality, and a bit of mine. Whenever I am super excited or nervous, I am an entirely different person. And so is Zeon, turning into a bug and all.
So yeah, that's it for now. Feel free to do your own, I really want to see the connections between AEs and CBers!

-Secret and Pseudonym's being twins came along before I knew about Quill and Zeon. I have always wanted a sibling, and Secret seemed like she might want one too. Yes, she already had Cilantro, but Cilantro is a little blunt and doesn't express her softer emotions much.
-Why did Secret's hair turn gray? Mainly, I suppose, because I my mom got her first gray hair at sixteen, something I am afraid of. Secret is fifteen, which is why I chose her instead of Cilantro.
-Cilantro. Cilantro is based on my more sarcastic side, which doesn't like being bothered and would rather curl up with a good book than do anything else. She's also not very social, and possibly a little shy. But mainly, she is the pest.
-Appearances. Secret has gray hair and blue eyes. Cilantro has brown hair and green eyes. Pseudonym has brownish-blond hair and blue eyes. When I created Pseudonym, I imagined him as kind of a middle between Secret and Cilantro, so I gave him aspects from both of them. And a soft blue shade for Secret's eyes seemed to match her personality. I have always seen green as a snappier color, so naturally it went to Cilantro.
-LilyCat? LilyCat is a shapeshifter who takes on the forms of a nine year old girl or a cat. I smushed her name as a human and her animal and came up with..... LilyCat. It's not very creative, but I don't care.
-Why does Secret like roller skates so much? And why is she always wearing them? I roller skate and ice skate, so it seemed natural to give her one of those aspects. AEs are the definition of impossible, correct? Imagine walking up stairs in big, clunky roller skates, or climbing trees. (The few times she's not wearing roller skates are at formal occasions or when she's swimming.)

-So, Dev was my first AE, and when I was making him I was mostly trying to make a goofy, crazy AE, because that's what everyone was doing, and he was really just for an RP. But I think he's a little different now - the same, but very different. Many of Dev's characteristics are embarrassing ones that I have in real life. For example, we're both quite impatient and can get violent. I also have a bit of a crazy side, something that isn't always contained IRL, so I try to channel it in Dev instead.
-Why is Dev transgender? Dev and I were always arguing over whether he was a boy or a girl.
-Feather was originally meant to simply be an emodiment of my grammar-freak side. However, most of the other traits she originally had, like her timidness, are not things that I actually experience IRL. So I had her pay a visit to my second AE, Saint Owl, in The Void, where she underwent a transformation. Now she has the sass and spunk I wish I had.
-Feather's karate. To be honest, I didn't have the best experience with karate, because I learned it from my elementary school's afterschool. I'm also not very athletic, nor do I have the time to take karate lessons, but I am rather interested in martial arts. Instead of looking into it, which I know I never will, I gave those talents to Feather.
-Cú Chullain is pretty much the person I wish I was! She's the embodiment of Irish stereotypes. Not only is she spunky (though not at Feather's level), she also has a murderous streak, and she's really fun to be around. She plays the violin, which I'm learning (as in, I've had one lesson so far, but I can't say I want to learn because I am), one of the instruments I like the most. She's also an Irish stepdancer. I know a lot of dancers - and when I say dancers, I mean elite dancers. The kind of girls who, when they fall, go naturally into a split and could stay like that for hours, perfectly comfortable and at ease. I'll never be able to do that, so I suppose a bit of my jealousy went into Cú.
-Hair. Why is Dev's hair purple? Well, funny story. My brother has dyed his hair before, and when he bought the dye, I asked for some purple dye, to do the tips of my hair. I chickened out. Who knows? I might dye my hair at some point . . . but not today. Instead, Dev's hair is purple, in tribute to that. Feather's hair and style is basically mine, just longer and nicer-looking.
I'll probably think of more things to say, but that's it for now.

Counter- Like all my good characters, Counter's name came first. It spoke to me and told me all about him, appearence wise. Yet, unlike most other good characters, his personality did not show up fully developed. All I knew about him was that he hated agreeing with me. So I've actually had to develop him some, something I've never done before.
-His shyness comes from my own. In real life, I have a tiny bit of social anxiety. It's never been diagnosed or anything and it's not very much, but it's enough to make me incredibly awkward meeting new people, nervous talking to people I don't know extremely well, and pretty bad at giving presentations. I decided to channel this into Counter's personality.
-He likes basketball because when I was first trying to draw him, I realized I had drawn a fairly good picture of him playing basketball. I didn't even know he liked basketball before then, but it seemed to fit. I always learn new things about my characters through drawing pictures of them.
I'm still learning about him and figuring him out, but I know him pretty well now.

*Zoey (Full name Zoelaira Estebelle Griffon; plot twist: she's royalty) is the main character from my book, Take Wing. (It's a working title.)
*She's often sarcastic, has great comebacks, is a little dangerous, is bold and daring and unafraid of anything, and super capable of doing anything. In short, she's everything I've ever wanted to be, but don't think I ever could. (I'm a very introverted person!)
*She does have a few sisters that appear in my story (Sterling Persephone Griffon and Adrianna Eleanora Griffon) as well as a twin brother, Zorinth. (Working name-- any suggestions?? Must start with Z.) I have a sister myself-- Poetic Panda!-- and we get along really well. I've always wanted to see what having a twin was like. I actually had the idea of her brother first, then decided to make him a twin for a super awesome plot twist and his evil motives. (long story.)
*She has wings because, well, this is weird, but I have dreams about flying. Not in an airplane, not in a hangglider or anything, but with my own two wings. My dreams are weirdly real, so I honestly feel like I could fly sometimes. If I could have one wish in the world it would be to have wings.
*She has long black hair that's always in a braid, because a) I've always wanted long hair; b) I've always thought black hair looked mysterious; and c) it's braided because that just seems more adevnture-ey to me.
*She fights with double swords because... um... this one is less concrete. I don't know. I've always admired the grace of fencers, and I read a lot of fantasy and most people either use a bow or a sword. While I love bows, they're overused in characters I feel like sometimes. And a sword felt to common and heavy, so I have her two narrow swords.
Maybe I'll think of more later...
