I need helllllllllp!
Okay, so I'm trying to earn more money so I can buy a house for the poor little homeless girl in the town square, so I'm following the main quest, or at least-I was. I'M STUCK ON SAARTHAL!!!!!
The ONE TIME I defeated the pre-boss, I guess you would call it , I saved right before I died-so EVERYTIME it loaded I died instantly. It was like a paradox!!!
So I had to completely restart the dungeon. I'm not happy about that. But the thin I'm not happy about is that I can't defeat the pre-boss!!! The weapons I have accsess to are the War Axe that drops from the skeletons in the dungeon, the Steel Greatsword, and some steel dagger that totally isn't worth it. The only spells I have are Healing, Flames, the first shout you learn (Force Rusa? Idek), Magelight, Tiger's Eye, Sharpclaws (or somrthing like that, since I'm a cat) and Lightning. I can't stay alive long enough to kill her! Someone please help me! :( :/
Stay Inky and gaming! ;)
Inktail.

You're a Kajeet--a Kaj---a-HOW THE HECK DOES ONE SPELL IT.
Anyways, I don't play Skyrim personally, but I've been watching my dad play since I was six.
He played as an elf lady (He adopted children. Our mom overheard us talking about them and assumed he had married someone, so we popped the news that dad was....a girl, and had adopted), and for me to mainly give advice, it might be useful to know what weapons the pre-boss has (HINT: use what's around you to you're advantage).
I'll consult my dad! :-)

SKYRIIIIIIMMMMM!!!!! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!
@Icy: It's spelled Kajiit! And I, also, watched my dad play Skyrim from a young age. Like, 5 or something.

If you're talking about Jyrik, yes, he (pretty sure it's not female but whatevs) is extremely difficult to defeat. I would advise using the area to your advantage - try to get the high ground, and if he comes at you, there will usually be a lot of ways to evade him if you're low health. It seems like you're a little underprepared to be perfectly honest, have you tried turning the difficulty down?

I mean the female Dragur, I believe is how you spell it. I haven't tried turning down the difficulty, how do you do that? (I'm on the PS4 if that helps) The options menu? and yes, I am a Kajeet, or whatever. Lolol!

I'm not entirely sure which female Draugr you're talking about - I cleared this place a very long time ago and I don't remember much. Yes, to turn the difficulty down you can go to the main menu, then System > Options > General. There should be either a slider or a left-right toggle button in there to turn the difficulty up or down.

Thanks about that diffuculty, I'll try that. Also, I'll try and get the name/take a picture of the person I mean. ;)

(Sorry, had to say something. ^^)
I don't play (sadly, me dad won't let me yet), but I watch my dad play as often as possible, and am absolutely DYING to get my hands on the game!!
Sorry, Inktail, don't know what part you're on. Me dad plays it when I'm asleep sometimes, so I don't get to watch everything. :'(
I have to say, though, there was some debris on the telephone wires today which looked a lot like hanging moss. XD
It was awesome. #fangirl

-pulls down hood- Okay so first of all what species are you? Cuz if it is a chasheet it is HARD to defeat him.

I am a Kajiit if that's what you mean...

Alright. First off, Mage is sorta the worst one to start off as. Because you're a khajiit, I would advise leveling up a ton and focusing those levels on thief stuff or warrior stuff - This is because the Khajiit species mainly helps out when you're a thief.
To be honest, you seem underprepared. Try some other quests to level up and then do this one. There are some pretty nice dungeons around the place so just keep looking. You need better weapons and if you really want to use spells, you can try a one handed weapon on one hand and the spell on the other hand.
You might want to go to the wizard college(It's in Winterhold) or at least buy some nice spell from the mage inside the castle of Whiterun. If you are able to buy a spell called Flame Atronarch, GET IT. It's seriously a really good spell at the start of the game and it'll help you out a ton.
I suppose just explore and do a bunch of quests is the best option.
