Help me not
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Help me not
Help me not feel so embarrassed... please?
This is a thread to post embarrassing stories, because I'm kinda dying of embarrassment right now and could use a laugh. (we can cheer each other up?) NO JUDGING WHATSOEVER!! This is kind of a weird idea, sorry.
Okay. Here's my story.
So, we're reading Romeo and Juliet in Literature, and last week, our teacher assigned us parts to read. Guess who's part I got? That's right.
Juliet.
The part of Romeo was assigned to this boy I really, really can't stand, and of course, my friends had to have a freak out and started elbowing me and all that stuff. They are merciless teasers. On the day we were actually supposed to read it, our teacher was gone, and our sub started by calling the readers to the front of the room. Usually, we'd just read from our seats, but she made us act it out and actually read like we meant it!! I had to say the lines like 'Romeo Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo?" (I can't remember what scene it was) and pretend like I was sitting on a balcony. Oh my gosh, I about died. Fortunately, I had to go to band practice before anything too awkward happened. (That's the first time I've been excited for band.) We'll probably have to finish up the scene on Monday... help me...
Thanks for reading. I can't wait to hear your stories!

Oh, that's so embarrassing! Here is one from just today:
I was onstage during the dress rehearsal for my school play, and we were singing America the Beautiful. My music/drama teacher had a partner song for it, though, and when we finished America the Beautiful we were supposed to sing it.
I was the only person who forgot.
Hold on, it gets worse. I was also the only person at that point who was miked.
So, I re-started the song, while everyone else- meaning about 70 4th graders, 20 5th graders, and miscellaneous teachers- were staring at me like I was crazy, singing something else.
Luckily, I caught myself. FIVE. WORDS. IN.
~~~
So, I realized that I was singing it wrong, and I blushed so much that I literally started to sweat.
This might not sound too embarrassing to some of you, but believe me, if you had been there...
I'm saved! Here's pt. 2 of my story:
So, my teacher reassigned parts for R&J today, thank goodness. My friend, who was giving me THE HARDEST TIME about being Juliet, got picked to read Juliet's part! And her crush was Romeo! Haha, I told her it was karma. (I think my teacher did it on purpose, because he listens to our class talk about crush drama and knows about that stuff.) It was even worse for her- she had to stand on a chair like a balcony, and my teacher read a few of her lines because "We need to get into this" and "she needed to put more emotion into it" Luckily, she is not as easily embarrassed as me, and did just fine.
