Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Geeky Exclama

Geeky Exclamations!

I like to use the interjections of my favorite characters, in place of the usual expletives. It isn't crude, it helps one to use one's imagination, it's just fun! I know I'm not the only one on the Chatterbox to do this-- what are some of your favorites? I use "Durin's Bane!" "Great Belin!" "Great Snakes!" "Blistering Barnacles!" "Fool of a Took!" etc. etc. etc.

This is great! I do this all the time, and most of the time I don't even realize it. I most often use "Merlin's beard!". When I first started saying it, I didn't even realize it.

Merlin's pants! Is one I use sometimes, but I generally just use my own made-up stuff, such as 'Holy camels!' And 'Oi!'

"Merlins beard!" is from Harry Potter. (I actually haven't read or watched any of HP but I just looked it upXD) And "Fool of a Took!" is from Lord of the Rings. THAT is the one i definitly know.

Really, Tuxedo! That's very interesting! You and I must have very similar tastes in books. :D It's nice to see there are Tintin fans out here. :D :D

"Inconceivable" is a great one I have not yet tacked on my vocabulary list-- it is now officially tacked!

That "Coincidence" quote is from The Incredibles, Caroline! And "Fool of a Took" is timeless!

I call people I don't like, "dirty rotten scabbas!" or 'scabs'. (Newsies!)

I yell, "Cheese it!" to my friends when we need to get away from something. (Also Newsies!)

I say, "Oh my cow's potatoes!" (Aspen Heights)

Random, but I insult people by borrowing from Newsies. For example, if someone tells me something rude, I point behind them and say, "Oh look, there's someone over there who cares... Go tell them!"

When people ask me how I slept I say, "On me back, Mush!" (Newsies)

When people ask me what I want for my birthday, I say...

"A pair of new SHOES with matchin' LACES, a perminent BOX at Sheepshead RACES!" (NEWSIES! I know, I'm obsessed)

XD

I have been known to say "Oh My Gandalf" on occasion.

I say "Oh Huckleberries" when something goes wrong;

"Cowabunga" and "Booyakashaw!" (Both from TMNT) Are some of my personal favorites though.

OH, I love "cowabunga"! I think it's originally from the Howdy Doody Show ('50s TV). I don't know which character said it. I can probably look it up.
