Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I've been reading

I've been reading some of the stories and posts for a few months now, but I haven't joined in until now. I'm still hesitant, but I figure now or never. I have read some of the good-byes from other CBers, and even though I didn't know them, I had still read some of their posts and felt sad. I'm not sure how often I'll be posting, though it will probably only be on the weekends because during the week I am constantly overloaded with homework, and tests and quizzes to study for(at least two tests or quizzes a week, WHY). O.K, so about me.

I will be turning 14 in a few months. I love all fruits in general, but mangos are my favorite. I love all shades of the color green, and nature. I live in a very hot and humid place, in fact on Christmas morning, it was 81 degrees! I like languages, and I am learning Spanish and Norwegian. I already know a lot of Brazilian Portuguese. I play piano, and sing in my school choir, and I want to learn to play the mandolin. My mom is Brazilian, and my dad is part Norwegian. I am a huge Harry Potter nerd, and a book nerd in general. I am generally nearly always stressed out about something at school, even though I know that is not healthy and I really MUST STOP. I love learning, and I am the type of persoon who glady learns on weekends and when she is not at school. I also like to garden, though it is kind of hard because I live in Florida where the soil is sandy, and the weather hot. I like to climb, but I'm not allowed to climb trees anymore because when I was nine, I fell from really high up and had to go to the E.R, so instead I climb furniture. I like cooking, and I am pretty exuberant, and I enjoy doing things like getting up early and watching the sunrise.

I want to try to write a story, and I will probably post one at some point, but probably not soon, because first I need to write a story that I am satisfied with. Also, I have a problem with starting stories and never finishing them. I'm working on it. Anyways, hello! I'm GreenMango and I would love to get to know you all.

Welcome, GreenMango. We're pleased to meet you!

A very nice introductory thread. Hi. I'm Pepper Star, which is obvious once you read my name at the bottom of this post. Welcome to the CB. So, anyway, If you've been looking on here for a few months, how much are you confused about? As for the story thing, a lot of people have that problem. Try writing a story with a friend.

My AE's (alter egos) are Pseudonym, Secret, and Cilantro. My captcha is called LilyCat.

Hi! I'm sort of confused about what saying Top does, does it do anything? Or is it just a habit or something to show the writer that you liked their thread? And what is a captcha?

For some unknown reason we can't fix, I first comment on a thread sends the thread to a back page. Then the second comment, which people often make saying "Top," sends it back to the front. So any Top is just an effort to bring a thread to the front so it won't be lost and forgotten.

Captcha is the name of the code you're asked to enter before submitting a comment.

Wow, I love your name, GreenMangos! It's very clever how you came up with it. And welcome to the CB! You'll love it here, there are all sorts of things to discover. To add on to what the Admin said about CAPTCHAs, a lot of us also use them at fictional pets almost, that talk in jumbled words like the CAPTCHA box you enter. It's kinda like a role play thing we do.

Anyways, welcome! And I love that intro, it's pretty cool.

Hey, Mango! Welcome to CB, home of the geeky references, obstentatious roleplays and gratuiously random murder mysteries! We're an amazing community, if I do say so myself. :P

I'm Abigail, your not-so-average fangirl with a pencil in hand and a head chock full of pie-in-the-sky ideas!

I'm also a parakeet enthusiast (I have two!). I tend to fangirl over Hamilton, Gravity Falls, Miraculous Ladybug, and Harry Potter (Slytherclaws forever), among other things! And I'm proudly Jewish and Vietnamese-American.

Here's a handy little guide to help you with Chatterbox lingo. It can be pretty confusing at first! http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/chirpatcricket/node/204967

Hope you decide to stick around, and may the odds be ever in your favor.

Hello, GreenMangos!

I'm Caroline. I like drawing, Star Wars, camels, and reading. Mangos are extremely delicious.

When you said you're exuberant and like getting up for the sunrise, you reminded me of Stargirl. Have you read that book? It's really excellent. In the sequel, Love, Stargirl, she gets up every week to watch the sunrise and it's amazing. I don't usually get up to see the sunrise, but once when I was at the Sea of Galilee I got up to watch it with my mother and it was true beauty. The yellowish hazey clouds, and then - BOOM - there it was suddenly as the earth turned another fraction of a millimeter and there was this gleaming, glowing piece of the sun 93 million miles away.

We're all so glad to have you here at the Chatterbox! Welcome!

THERE'S A SEQUEL?!!!!! I MUST read it. Sorry. I did read Stargirl, as you can probably tell, and I definetly connected with her. What you described about the Sea of Galilee sounds beautiful. I once was on a road trip and had a similar experiance. We were all tired, having traveled during the night, but then the most amazing sunrise just made our day. You should try to see more sunrises more often, it is hard to wake up early, expecially during the winter if you live somewhere cold, but I always find that I am more happy when I put in the effort to see it. It is my goal to see a sunrise while sitting on Pike's Peak, though it will probably never happen.

Yes, there's a sequel! And it's totally awesome! Now I will make it my goal to see the sunrise more often :). Thank you!

Ohmygoodness, I love Stargirl!

This kid at my school was literally like, "Hav you read Stargirl?" and I was "Uh, nope" and he was like, "Well, you have to read it then. Because you are Stargirl."

But, totally off topic. Welcome, Greenmangos! I love your username, and I hope you like the CB :)

Oh my goodness I loved Stargirl! And the sequel was really good too, especially when she tries to capture the sunrise. I think I read two or three years ago... Wow... That was a long time...
