Who believes that there are intelligent life forms living in other solar systems? I believe there are. The universe is so massive, that Earth can't be the only planet containing life forms. I believe that one day, Humans will find other intelligent life forms on other planets as our technology advances, or they will find us first. What do you think? Do you believe that Earth is the only planet in the entire universe with life forms contained? Or do you think that there are weird green blobs in some foreign solar system? Humans might never know.

One thing I'm almost positive about is that there are some sort of life in the universe besides ours. Whether it's intelligent creatures like us, or microscopic bacteria, there has to be some life. However, Earth is a very unique planet, and it takes a lot of goldilock perfection to get the right planet to hold life.
We have came across some planets that are very much like Earth, like Kepler-452b. This one is very close to ours, and we are only looking into a very, very small part of the universe. We may not find it, but there is at least one planet out there with life.

To quote Star trek: Its life Jim but not as we know it.
I do think there is intelligent life out there, but not intelligent in the way we think of it. Having life forms who think the same way we do is too much of a coincidence. If we ever contact extraterrestrial life, they will probably be so totally different from humans that we will probably be unable to comprehend them.

That's a fascinating way to think about it! I just watched a movie called "arrival" That has a similar way of thinking about it.

... That's a hard one.
I don't believe that maybe there could be intelligent life, but at least bacteria or something like that. Our planet is set up perfectly for life to be on it, but who knows, there's so much of space that we haven't explored yet.
Honestly every generation thinks that we've gone so far. I'm not saying that teleportation will exist, because that's just insane if you think about it while gazing into the sky with a book.
But really, we have gone pretty far, but there's so much farther to be gone. For one, maybe one day in the future, people will question how we lived with such low internet or something like that. Pilgrims and stuff couldn't predict machines, so how can we predict what's going to happen soon? All I know is that we have so much farther to be gone, and every generation thinks they have gone so far.

I'm pretty sure that if we humans did find life on another planet, it would probably be just some bacteria, and nothing close to what we are like. That aside, it would still be an incredible discovery!!! Think about it: it took millions of years for life to evolve on earth, more time than our current brains can fathom. I'm willing to bet there are a whole bunch of planets out in the universe that are currently going through the same sort of process that took our own planet so long to accomplish. Maybe even after humans die out in the far, far, faaaaarrr future (it'll happen eventually), another species that we currently do not pay attention to might evolve to replace us! But back to the present~ I suppose it is possible that somewhere out there, there is a planet that is currently evolving to sustain life and has a species of bacteria on it. And maybe, with the help of completely miraculous coincidences, we humans will find that planet and that bacteria. Hey- it's possible. We just need a few million meaningless coincidences on our side. And seeing as it was a few million meaningless coincidences that helped us evolve in the first place, I think we might have a chance.
Aah my CAPCHA autocorrected.

Ummm, could we keep Evolution and Creation out of this? I'm a Christian, but I don't want to start a debate. However, my beliefs come into this so much. Rghh. How to do without making someone upset, yet staying true to your world view? Help, Admins?
We'll post comments about these issues as long as they are respectful to all, even those with whom you may disagree.

Yes! If the universe goes on forever (because how could it end, unless there are more universes), I think it's a bit sad to think we are the only beings out there. There are so many exo-planets, too. It seems impossible or there not to be something out there, even just a random plant, or an insect.

I think that it is highly probable that there is intelligent life on other planets, galaxies, universes! First of all, the conditions that these life forms need are most likely NOT the same as the conditions that we need to live. And although humans as a whole know a lot and have developed a lot of technology, there is still much, much more that we don't know vs. what we do know. However, the resources and basically the everything would be so different that I don't think that we would be able to recognize them as life and their technology as technology. I also don't think we would be able to communicate with them, as everything on their planets might be so different and their ways of communicating so different. *clutches head* Hurts to think about it for too long.

I think that the surest sign of inteligent life somewhere in this universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.
