Acne.I'm

Acne.

I'm feeling kinda ugly these days because of my face. It seems like every day it gets redder, or bumpier, or just. . . . uglier. I hate it.

I hate it so much.

I don't know what to do. I know that I should wash my face twice a day, use a good moisturizer, don't touch your face, and to clean my glasses often.

And I do all of that! But it doesn't go away. I feel ugly and stupid and just. . . bleh. Do any of you have tips to get rid of it or just make me feel better. (BTW, "Makeup is not an option unless it's for theater." -my mother.)

Try using Equate! They've got a good series of treatments that takes just a couple of minutes every morning!  It's very useful in humidity. I'd also look at Netreogena's stuff. Depending on where you live, these might be more or less effective.

First of all, defintely agree with your mom on no makeup. I testify it doesn't help at all, you'll be grateful you didn't.

Second, don't skimp on quality of facewash. I d'nt suggest like super expensive stuff, but I use things like AcneFree that work pretty well and aren't outrageously expensive.

Third, a friend told me toothpaste is good for shrinking and stuff cause it dries out problem areas. I've tried it and it did work.

And fourth, don't sweat the acne. I promise you're not ugly, despite how you feel. I went through the exact same thing and it really sucks but it won't be too bad.  No one really notices acne, and it's considered bad form top point it out. So if anyone ever does, they're just being rude and you don't need to bother yourself with them.

But seriously Butterfly, with a personality like yours, people will care about that way more than acne.

*sighs*

Acne. The thing every teenager deals with. Don't worry about acne too much, Butterfly. Everyone will get it at sometime or another, so when you see those people with perfect skin, don't worry about your own. Their time will come.

Ok, I feel like a total hypocrite saying that because I almost obsess with my acne (which actually isn't vwry bad). So here come my tips:

1. Absolutely no makeup. I wear makeup to cover it sometimes when I'm desperate but honestly, it may be short term relief, but in the long run it's worse. The next day I'm even worse off.

2. Most homemade remedies don't work, at least for me. I've tried them, trust me. Haha.

3. I have use two different treatments for my acne. The first was about twenty dollars to start myself off with a moisturizer, a wash, and a spot treatment. It is made by Clean and Clear, and it isn't natural and it will burn you face a little bit, and after a while I've noticed the effects start to fade and wear down. But while it lasted I was very impressed. The second treatment I used, and am using right now, takes a bit longer to start to work, and it may not work for someone with bad acne, but there is this natural face sponge that has this ash into it, but here's the magic: it looks, feels, and acts like any other sponge. The water that runs through it is clear, and all you have to do it wash your face with it in the shower. It's magic!

4. Try not to apply too many moisturizers. Too much will definitely make your face break out; use just enough.

5. I cheat, and wear my hair over my face sometimes, and this may be different for you, but I have found as long as my hair is clean it doesn't increase my breakout. Just a tip. ;)

6. Well, I could go on and on and on and on- you get the idea. Just remember, you are beautiful and you shouldn't care what people think.

I remember an online friend of mine wanted me to send him a picture of him (which, btw, you should never do to an online person.) so I did. He asked me to send him another one because he didn't want his friends to be judgmental and he suggested I should wear my hair over my face. Now, this has nothing to do with acne, but I am still gonna go on with the Story because I am incredibly bored! I shot him back a long, long reply that essentially said: "I have never seen you, or your friends, and I will never meet them. I think I am fine just the way I am and you will not get any more pictures from me."

He told me that I was beautiful and I was like Fatespeaker. To those who don't know who she is, she's a dragon from WoF who doesn't care what people think of her. Well, I gtg. Bye!

I hardly ever have an occasional pimple (perhaps because I only wear makeup for shows and I  don't have bangs), but when I do, I use this all natural Clear-Away stuff that really helps. Except on Bob, but I'm pretty sure he isn't a pimple; he's just a red dot on my nose.

I feel the same way! I'm in 7th grade, and it started in... 5th grade, and it's simply not going away. I wash my face twice or three times a day, I never wear makeup, I don't touch my face (not really), and I've tried a lot of stuff, but none of it works. Plus, now it's on my shoulders and stuff, and I don't really think I can wash my shoulders twice or three times daily, only once in the shower, so that's a problem. I don't have many tips for you, but I've just kind of learned to live with it. I'm hoping it will clear up someday, and it probably will.... plus, it's better to have it now then when we're in high school, college, etc, you know, to get it over with I guess is what I'm trying to say. Don't give up, but don't obsess over it.... I'm not sure. If you completely give up on trying to get rid of it then it will never leave, but focus on others things too. I guess another tip would be to keep your hair out of your face because (although it hides the acne;)) the oil will just cause more. Also, skin isn't the only factor to looking good. I don't like my skin. But I like my hair, I think it's pretty. And no matter what, you're pretty on the inside, which is what really matters. :)

Admins? Why aren't the comments showing?

What comments? I'm just posting now. Sometimes you need to be patient. We all have lots of other things to do, too.

I had huge problems with acne a few years ago, but it's slowly gotten better because I've figured out the right routine for me. I get eczema and dry skin really easily, so I can't use too harsh of stuff. Anyway, here's what works for me:

1. Wash my face at morning and at night, and after sports, with a skin cleanser. This helps get rid of acne as well as gets rid of dryness, so less gunk in your pores. I also use a Clarisonic, which is SUPER useful and highly recommended. Most of my acne disappeared after I started using this, bringing my twenty pimples/zits down to about two. Seriously.

2. Put on EndZit in places where I need it (you can get this on Amazon). This is not, I repeat, NOT, makeup. It is a remedy for pimples/zits that drys the area where it is, but happens to also cover it up. The only problem with this is that it does dry your skin, so I have to use it with caution.

3. Put on a moisturizing sunscreen. One, because I live in California so I need sunscreen anyway, but two, because it offsets the EndZit and moisturizes my skin really nicely. Obviously, you don't have to use sunscreen, just something that moistures your skin but doesn't make you break out, like practically every actual moisturizes does for my skin.

4. Wash your hair a LOT. Even though I don't have bangs and wear my hair up literally every day, this does make a difference. My parents can tell I haven't washed my hair just by looking at my face :P.

5. Never touch your face. I touched my face a lot, and then noticed it made me break out more. But when I stopped, I had significantly less acne.

6. Don't try a ton of different stuff on your face. I started doing this, and then my face became too dry, or had too much buildup from moisturizer, et cetera, et cetera. Try stuff in weeklong periods, so you really know if it works or not. For me, I can't put more than three things on my face at a time (so the cleanser, the endzit, and the moisturizing sunscreen).

And remember this does not define who you are! I got super insecure about my acne but then looked around me and realized people love someone for who they are, not for how they look. And besides, I see people all the time at Junior High with a face-full of acne and still think, "look how pretty they are." Don't feel insecure about it; in fact, I don't even look in the mirror unless I have to, so I don't remind myself about looks and stuff like that. :)

Hope that helped, Butterfly! :D

Yeah, makeup will make acne worse so I don't reccomend it. It seems like you're doing all that you can, so... Don't worry! Literally everyone goes through getting acne and no one thinks less of you for it. I have lots of friends with acne and does that effect how I view them? No. I've met lots of people with acne who are super cute, so don't worry, it doesn't make you ugly. Basically, it's nothing to be too stressed about! Just keep up with all that you're doing and be confident!

Also! Don't pop it. That will make it worse too, even though it's super tempting.

Don't feel ugly. I feel that way a lot, but because I have extremly unruly hair.

ahem.

You are GOOD enough, SMART enough, BEAUTIFUL enough, and STRONG enough. Believe it and never let insecurity run your life.

-Pintrest

Things will probably get better. I can't really recommened anything, because I don't have those types of problems yet, but trust me. It will get better. You are pretty. Nice. Kind. Lots of 7th to 8th graders have this problem. (with acne) Just keep on going. Don't feel ugly. I spend a LOT of time feeling that way. So, do not pull a Pepper Star.

Find other ways to feel pretty. Find a cool way to do your hair. Get nice acessories. Fell beautiful. And always remember, looks do not make a person. Personality does.

SO FEEL BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
