Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Nov. 14th Supermoon!

Nov. 14th Supermoon!

Hey! So has anyone heard of this?

So, for those who don't know anything about it, the moon is sometimes closer and sometimes farther away from the earth, right?  So, a Supermoon is when the moon is full and at it's closest point to the earth.   And it's happening tonight!   It appears about 14% bigger and 30% brighter.  There's three Supermoons this year, but this one is special because it's the only  one this year that's completely full and there hasn't been one this close to the earth since 1948 and there won't be another this close 'til 2034!

So, I'm going out tonight and going to try and get some pictures.  Anyone else?

Last night as QE and I were admiring the moon, I was like: "Lunar Eclipse is in full power." And she's like "yeah." So that folks is why my cousin is awesome. Guard your minds peeps! Airi is out for revenge!

I heard about this but some annoying clouds are blocking my view of it rigt now. My friend sent me a really cool picture of it reflecting off the ocean though.

I, unfortunately, was unable to go out and see the moon. I'm really sad about that. Would anyone that took pictures possibly be able to post a couple? If not, that';s fine. I could just look some up online, I guess...

Well, that sucks for me....

*sighs*

I live in Illinois. The light pollution makes it look like any other moon--maybe the regular moon in the UP. (You seriously need to go to the Upper Peninsula! You can see literally every star in the sky there at night. As for a girl who moved to Illinois when she was 3, and 3 year olds don't exactly stare at the night sky, it was breathtaking. I normally see 3-6 stars in the sky each night here. You can even see the milky way, every constelation, powder across space....like I said, breathtaking.)

Or maybe.......

That's no moon.

When I went up onto my building's new roof deck, it was pretty cloudy. I fancied I could see the moon through the clouds, but it was dimmer than usual, because of the clouds. It also didn't look that big. It was the size of a normal full moon.

(I live in New York.)

I saw it on the horizon, big, pale orange, bright. It was awesome. I also saw it in the sky, not as big as on the horizon, but so bright it almost hurt to look at!

Wow, that sounds really cool.  It was cloudy here and I didn't have a good camera, so I didn't get any pictures.  Did you?  If you did, would you mind posting them on here?  Please?
