4-H!

In preparing for my club's 4-H meeting tonight, I started wondering whether any CBers do it. Micearenice? Windswift? Do any of you animal-lovers do animal 4-H clubs or another type of club? I participate in the rabbit (we have two) club, and it is loads of fun! I am secretary, and a friend of mine is president, so we have an excuse to spend time planning, figuring things out, and talking together :)

back to the Down to Earth
I do 4-H!  I'm in a SPIN group( Special Interests group), Shooting Sports.  We do Archery, Rifle, and Outdoor Skills.  It's a lot of fun.  I love Archery and Rifle. :). Last time we met my dad did Orienteering for Outdoor Skills, and we had a treasure hunt!  It was a lot of fun.
BTW, anyone else here hunt?  I just got my hunting license this year for the first time!

That's so cool! I don't hunt, but two of my brothers do. They have B-B guns. 
Last night was my first official 4-H meeting as secretary. I brought the computer and recorded everything that happened at our rabbit meeting. It was so fun!! All us kids sat around a table and ran the meeting. We learned how to palpate a doe, how do train rabbits to use a litter box, and a lot about rabbit agility. We set up a course for our rabbits and tried to encourage them to jump over hurtles or go through tunnels. After that we gave the rabbits a rest and ran outside to jump on the trampoline (not mine! It is at the house where we have meetings). We ended up playing "dead man" in the dark. I kept getting "killed" by X-men characters until the end when I was asked: "dead man, dead man, who killed you?" And I was like: "AARON BURR!"

Cool!  I do Cavies but most of the tornements/barn/meetings is with the rabbits since our fair is a little smaller then average.  Do you do the costume class or obstacle course at your fair?  

Last year me and Belle (my Guniea pig) were captain hook and Tinkerbell:)

Oooh maybe I could post a pic of her in her dress.  Shes so ADORABLE!!!! 

Shes a mixed breed and there for didnt get to participate in the real competition but she got first in PET CLASS!!!! Mostly because she was the only one:P  

In showmanship I got 2nd because it was our first year and I answered one of the questions wrong.

Q. What is polydactyl?

A. Uuuuh...Actually I dont  what I answered then but I know the answer now.  WHEN A CAVY HAS LESS OR MORE TOES THEN USUAL!!!!!!!

Im so smart.  

Anyway thats all I do with animals but in the art barn Im like the mega super cowgirl!!!!

Last year I had like 50 entries or something and Three of them got honorable mentions whilst only one got  a mega blue ribbon.  :( But that was also because the judge was REALLY picky and it was my first year so hopefully next time Ill do better.  

I hope this doesnt sound like Im bragging because IM NOT.   I absulutely HATE it when people brag especially when its something a four year old could do.  So yeah, please dont take this the wrong way.  

Off that point what do you do special at your fair?  We do a book exchange which is ABSULUTELY AWESOME because people bring the best stuff there and then we come home with a ton of new books!  BAM!

I don't think our 4-H has certain clubs within it--but maybe I'm wrong. I tried going to a meeting once, just to see how it was, and it was REALLY boring. I've been thinking about checking it out again, just to see if it was boring simply because I was too young. Maybe now that I'm older it'll be more interesting?

Oh, Kaleidescope Griffin, you're so lucky to get to show your cavies! I have been wanting to show mice for like a year now...But there are absolutely NO shows ANYWHERE in my state. Congrats on Belle's award for the pet class show, though!!!!!!!!!

I do 4-H!  But sadly, i'm the only person in my club. (Because everybody got old and left and we didn't get any more people.)  I do Photography, and foods (Just the demonstration).  I've wanted to do an animal, preferrably dogs, but my family only has one dog, and my sister showed her, and now the dog is 10 years old.  (She's in "retirement")   I've wanted to show my lego creations, but the county fair hasn't been putting them in a glass case (So pieces have been stolen.) until this year, so I'll probably do that this year.  this year was my last in Intermediate.
