Hi. I'm not

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Hi. I'm not

Hi. I'm not sure if this would go in Bab or DtE but I'm just putting it here because ei feel like people look at Down to Earth more often. Anyways! I have a bit of a problem. You see, I'm reading this book, and it's about 700 or 800 pages and it's extremely complicated and detailed. Don't get me wrong, I love the book! It's very exciting and interesting, but it's just super hard to read and I can't stop because I already told my reading teacher I was reading it for our reading system thingy.

I also just keep forgetting to read it. I don't know why but I've been crazy busy lately and I don't have much time to read. Any ideas? I don't know....

In the last few years, I've read two really good, long books. (each over 1,000 pages) Both were so good that I was sorry when I reached the end! I suggest you think of yours as just two or three regular books. A book that long is expected to take longer. But if you feel it's too complicated and advanced for you, you might explain that to your teacher and switch to something else. I've also learned that you don't have to finish every book you start if you're not enjoying it. I got one mystery from the library that sounded so good, but I couldn't follow the author's writing style at all. So I quit and returned it.

The two books I loved: Remembrance Rock by Carl Sandburg (the story of America, it's people, and the American dream, told as a novel, the only novel he wrote)and From Sea to Shining Sea by Thom (the story of George Rogers Clark and the Lewis and Clark expedition, again told as a novel, very readable).

Ooh!

I had this problem with Les Miserables.

If I were you, I'd put a sticky note at the next chapter. Then, when you reach it, just say, "One more chapter," until you finish the book.

Boom!
