Hey, guys!Th
Hey, guys!
This last month has been a little crazy, but I'm back at home now, and I have loads to do. The best (*ahem* one of) thing that I got to do while in WA, was go to The Mox boardinghouse.
Yes, Gared, I know that's a card from Magic. What is this place? It's a resturaunt/gaming store. IT. IS. AWESOME!!!
The resturaunt is Steampunkesque (That probably isn't a term, but it should be.), with scifi guns and other items adorning the walls. Now, when I say "Steampunkesque", I mean there are booths, like at a normal resturaunt, lots of dark colors, combined with metal. It's pretty neat!
The food there is really good, and the portions are pretty large. You can also try out games which they have on a shelf behind the clerk in the front. The gaming store section blew my mind.
We have some of the games there (plus a few that they don't) and there were a whole lot more that we then wanted to get. I have the Edge of the Empire (EoE) Fantasy Flight game, and I'm trying to get a game of it started with Coco, Cron, Merenwe, and myself.
They had a couple adventures (which I don't really care for. They give you these boxes with stuff you're supposed to read to the PC's (Player Charries), and then sneak a bit more into the GM material) and ... AMAZING SOURCE BOOKS!!!
I need these sourcebooks. They had some for planets, and also for careers, to make better charries. One of the guys who worked there noticed me oggling the stuff and told me how you could use FF's new Star Wars game's figurines.
And I want to really badly, but our crew is crazy. There's me: Human, Azea Fett, Bounty Hunter, ST (Specialization tree) Assasin.
Coco: Squib (LOOK DEM UP DEY ARE SO CUUUTE!!!) Nala, Smuggler; ST Thief.
Cron: Dug, Gabul Shitar, Hired Gun; ST Enforcer.
Mere: Cathar, Abiah, Smuggler; ST Pilot.
Sooo ... with two EU charries, I don't see that happening with this group. Besides, we're going to have to use Skype to play.
My last two EoE Rp's have been crazy. The first one, my dad was the GM, and we couldn't figure out how to keep everybody going with the game. So we basically quit. Part of the probalem was, the sessions were too long, and another was: Nobody really knew how to roleplay.
Second time, I was GM, and we were really lax with the rules. That time was with half of my friends. Who had to go and move to VA. So, that RP is done for now.
And with this RP, I'm hoping to get right in-between the two. It helps that Cron has done an RP before.

whatwhatwhat?! That sounds cool!
store and restaurant based off of steamounk AND BOOK STUFF and games?!
That sounds like a great source of research for my book!
Did they play steampunk music? That would've matched the atmosphere perfectly as well.
I understood nothing after the first paragraph mentioning the video games but it sounds like a cool store.

It is awesome! But however, not as steampunky as I would like it to be. (So, no steampunkmusic. I think. It might have been. I have never listened to steampunk music. I think.) That's just how it was described to me before we went, although it does invoke a sense of it in the decor. And there are no video games.
:)
Just board and card and RP games.
