Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Æ ball!
Honored Guests,
It is my deepest and most utmost pleasure to introduce you to the Ballroom resort or, as the staff affectionately calls it, the triple F. Here, you will find three, spectacular buildings, Fun, Fashion, and Fantasy, surrounding our magnificent ballroom. The fun building, for the Æs who are wild, light of heart, and maybe even a bit crazy, is shaped like an enormous bouncy house, and is filled with cake, pie, balloons, "kandy", and anything that an Æ could desire. If an Æ wishes for a bouncy, frilly, flaming, or otherwise Æish outfit, all they have to do is shout their request up the bubble chimny, and it will come falling down in a bag that, for no reason in particular, is fat and jolly. The fantasy castle, made of crumbling stone, soaring towers, and fancy turrets, is a dream come true for the Æs who choose to be knights, dragons, princesses, merry men, enchantresses, or whatever fantasy form you might endeavor to go to the ball as. Filled with fairy godmothers who are ready to conjure up the outfit of your dreams, give makeovers, and gossip, all at the snap of your fingers, is for those who, at heart, are wild, free, and adventures. Yet there are other still who feel compelled towards the fashion building, a tall, modern, steel and a glass round skyscraper that looms impressively into the sky. The interior is comfortable, sleek, and modern, with cloth, thread, sequins, beads, and buttons brimming in multicolored splendor in a closet behind a door in every bedroom. It is for the Æs who with to express their unique personalities through their fabulous clothing, whether that means going to the ball as a diva or an alien.
And then, finally, there is the ballroom. A great, white marble structure, fashioned after the Roman collosium. (Plus a roof) On ball nights, it is lit up with floating lanterns that adorn every hallway. A huge feast is set up in the banquet room, after which Æs will be directed to the main ballroom, to dance under the light of the lanterns.
On non ball days, the ballroom building is available for dancing and or etiquette lessons. You may attend these classes with or without your partner at your leasure.
Each of the buildings (excepting the ballroom) has a girls side and a boys side, and two grand staircases lead down from each side, meeting in a grand foyer. Each building has an extra set of rooms for your enjoyment. What these rooms contain is for you discover.
I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Triple F.
Sincerly,
~The Ballroom Master

Before I continue, let me just credit this idea to the "Shadow Worker", with his or her amazing Æ hotel.
Now, down to business.
I'm going to attempt to have the first ball in two weeks. We can start Friday night, and carry on through the weekend. So, everyone, I suggest you begin asking.
This is sort of like an rp; your Æs can explore the extra rooms, and you can invent what they hold, or you can just post on the day of the ball. It's all up to you.
Here's the character sheet. Have fun!

*Holds cherished photo in hands* I'll be waiting for you, right here, Bolton.
(October 5, 2016 - 7:36 pm)
My love! I'm back! I missed you so much!
(October 6, 2016 - 4:58 pm)
Yay! Doesn't that mean Daisy's back, too? YAY! *Runs off leaving Æs alone*
Rude! Just runnning off like that... RUDE!
Yay! Bolton, you're back! *smiles widely*
*returns* Now let's continue the story!
(October 7, 2016 - 2:56 pm)
Yes, I'm back! Hooray!
Psst!
Yes, Beth, what is it?
*whispers something*
OH MY! I'm so sorry, but I've got to go! Aurgh! *runs away*
What was that all about?
Oh, Burt wanted to do Daisy a "favor" and through away all the Starbucks coffee. He said there is way too much sugar and it posed a potential health risk of obesity. Even though Daisy is super thin and works out 4 days a week.
Oh. Anyway, Anna! Let's defeat the dragon! So... how? What is your plan? I know we can do it... together because LOVE CONQUERS ALL!
(October 7, 2016 - 8:08 pm)
Burt! You're back! Yay! So...... we have the chest. Let's bring it back!
Echosong~
After Frosty's incredible feat of bravery, the dragon reveals the chest. I give a small gasp, and wrap Burt's coat tighter around my shoulders. Finally, we have it.
The group walks up to it, and we gently place it on Windwhistle's back. I'm pretty sure everyone is loath to use such a beautiful creature made to carry anything other than Sam, but we don't exactly have a choice. The group of AEs triumphantly makes its way towards the exit, with Windwhistle at out head.
Just before we reach the exit, Anna calls a halt and turns to me. "Echo, you should go ahead and sing the chest open. We don't know what's out there." I puase. "What do I sing?" Anna shrugs. "The Ballroom Master didn't specify. She probobly wanted you to choose." I smile. I know what I'll do.
I step up to the chest, and take a deep breath. Then, with my clearest voice, I begin to sing my forest song. For some reason, the song seems to take on a kind of power, a kind of haunting beauty that wasn't there before. But, even though the song is powerful, the chest does not open. I keep singing, and despair makes its way into my voice. I can't do it. It won't open.
Then, I feel a hand slip into mine, and a clear voice rings out beside mine. I turn to see Burt standing beside me, his hazel eyes blazing with a light I hadn't seen before. I sing louder, my voice harmonizing with his, and as the song's volume rises, so does the lid of the chest. A blinding light comes from the lid and everyone, including me and Burt, raises their hands to cover their eyes. When the light fades, everyone bends over the chest. Inside is a small, crystal cannon, big enough to hold. It seems to radiate a certain peace, a certain........ calm.
In the chaos that follows of making battle plans, I turn to Burt. Something's been on my mind. "Burt......" I ask slowly. "You know, when we were in the recording studio, and I asked you.... you know..... if you wanted to go to the ball. Would-would you have said yes?" Burt looks at me, and my heart flips in my chest at the sight of his smile. It seems to light up his entire face. "Yes. I would've said yes." My heart beat speeds up, and it's all I can do not to squeal, or something equally ridiculous. "And..... and now?" Burt grins. "Even more so than earlier." I turn bright red, and feel like happiness has flooded me from the roots of my hair to the tips of my toes. He said yes!
Of course, this perfect moment is when the imps decide to burst into the fantasy castle and start firing pies.

Aww! So romantic! I love it!
Burt~
I watch as Echosong begins to sing in her beautiful voice, so crystal clear it Echos through the caves. Although the song has an almost magical quality to it, the chest doesn't open.
I hate to see her, alone, standing all by herself. She needs help. I thought. Walking softly up to her, I take a deep breath and slip my hand into hers. Maybe I can help share and supply the magic we need.
We sing, louder and louder, our voices perfectly matched. The chest begins to light up and shine like a beacon. It is so bright that we shield our eyes. Once it's closed, I notice a small, crystal cannon in it.
After that it was all chaos. Echo and I stood in the center of it, too lost to be of any help. We were still recovering from our harmonious duet together.
"Burt......" Echo asks slowly. "You know, when we were in the recording studio, and I asked you.... you know..... if you wanted to go to the ball. Would-would you have said yes?"
I look at her with a huge smile. I'm sure I haven't smiled that big- like, ever.
"Yes. I would've said yes."
She presses on, still a bit nervous. "And..... and now?"
I grin and reach over to hug her. "Even more so than earlier." I reassured her.
She smiles like the stars just fell down at her feet. But she means the world to me; I've never felt this way before. I'm about to kiss her when, of course, the imps start firing pies. Beside me, an AE gets a face full of chocolate mousse.
"Mmm, I like chocolate." Bolton remarks, suddenly next to me. He catches my glare. We're under attack and that's all he can say?
"I mean, uh, I'm gonna go make sure Anna's okay." He hastily beat a retreat. I shook my head. Anna was cool, she didn't deserve such a fickle boyfriend.
"Echo, let's go before-" Just then, I got hit by a bombardment of cream pies with- I groaned. Strawberry filling.
"Not only did I get hit, I got hit by a disgusting STRAWBERRY FILLED pie!" I shouted, shaking my fist.
I was ready to march up to the imps and make them pay. Echo pulled a handkerchief out of her pocket. "Here." She said, wiping some of the cream off.
"Thanks, but we don't have any time! We've got to get the cannon, Echo! Before the imps either splatter it or steal it!" I jump up and grab her hand. We start running through the crowd, dodging lies and panicking AE's.
(October 9, 2016 - 6:55 am)
Um... I thought Bolton was still trapped in the Imp's lair?
(October 9, 2016 - 11:15 am)
Oh. Then he uh, didn't see him. Whatever.
(October 9, 2016 - 6:03 pm)
Echosong~
Burt grabs my hand, and we are running though the croud of panicked, screaming AEs. The cannon glints in the distance, and we put on an extra burst of speed, reaching the cannon just as two imps are about to grab it. Burt punches one, and I grab the cannon. Then, another wave starts to creep up from behind. I make eye contact with Burt. We both know that if we don't do anything, the hotel will fall. So I do the only thing I can think to do.
I throw the cannon to Quieenie, and grip Burt's hand, before we are overwhelmed.
(October 10, 2016 - 7:57 pm)
The cannon can only be moved by Windwhistle... right? Whatever, I'll make it work. And the Imps are here, correct? Okay.
~Queenie
Echosong throws the cannon at me, and I catch it, for a moment feeling calmer than I ever have, eternal calm, before the weight of the cannon catches up with me, and I stagger. How is it so heavy? Sweat beads my forehead. I'm a queen! I shouldn't be working so hard! Someone! Come help your queen! I want to say all those things, but I'm too focused on the cannon to say anything.
The letter said... only Windwhistle could carry it! Only Windwhistle! I sit down, setting the cannon in my lap, as I hear a neigh. Windwhistle is here! I sigh with relief, as Sam gets off, and lifts the cannon from me, onto Windwhistle, carrying me up after him.
I sit behind him, high up on the horse. Now I feel like a queen. I look at everyone else, crying, "Attack!"
Everyone stares at me for a moment, and I see Bomb and a few others roll their eyes, but they follow my instructions. I hear Anna's shout, "For Bolton and Chilly! For the Ballroom Resort! For the Chatterbox!" And everyone repeats after her, charging at the Imps, who, naturally, start shooting pies.
"The cannon." I say, and Windwhistle lowers it to the floor. Now, how am I supposed to fire a cannon? I've certainly never fired one before!
I look at the pure crystal, and see my perfect reflection in it, and Sam's behind me. I survey it, not seeing any levers. I reach out tentatively, and touch my finger to it, again feeling the calm, the peacefullness. It's as if I could stay like that forever...
"Q-queenie?"
Sam's voice jerks me back to reality, and I put my whole hand on it, managing not to be submerged under the calm drawing me in.
"STOP IT!" I snap at the cannon, and I feel the pulling ebb away for a moment, then return again. So it listens to me? Of course it would. It listens only to "A commanding Queen". That's me.
I smile, then angle it toward the imps, taking a deep breath, the shouting as loudly as I can, "FIRE!"
Calm. Peace. I feel them both, overwhelming me, washing over me, and I stand there, paralyzed. Out of the corner of my eye, I see everyone else with a calm, worry-less expression on their faces, and a large white, glow ball of... of light... and... and just pure calm. The white ball shoots toward the Imps, then the whole room is awash with the pureness of it. White light is everywhere, and I'm sure it's not just this room that's feeling it.
I take a deep breath, and it's like breathing in pure, fresh, uncontaminated air. Beautiful, wonderful... peaceful. And I feel like I'm in an alternate reality, in a white ocean, the light like waves, going in and out around me. I keep my hand on the cannon, and close my eyes, giving way to the light... the peace and wonderfulness. I hardly realize myself falling back... and Sam catching me and lowering me down more softly than if I had just fallen, and then... nothing, just calm, again. How wonderful.
~~~
I was thinking Queenie would just... faint because of the energy she put into firing the cannon.
