Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I am kinda

I am kinda hyperventilating right now.

I know what you're thinking, 'ballet, it's like, 4:45 in the morning, how are you hyperventilating?'

Well guess what. Tomorrow is my first day of school. At an actual middle school. With other middle schoolers.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

So yeah.... That's why I'm hyperventilating. See, I've been homeschooled as long as I can remember. I went to preschool somewhere, but when it was time for kindergarten... Well, just let me rant about my school situation for a bit.

See, I was in kindergarten when I was 5. Now, today I'm about 5'2.5, so pretty tall (I think), but at 5, I was a really small kid! And, me and my parents and baby brother lived out in the middle of nowhere so I would have a 45 to 60 minute long bus ride both ways. So, my mom decided to homeschool me. Her degree is in early childhood education (or something like that), so it was kinda like being a teacher again, but with me. But yeah. Every year, we would get a new box with a new guide, new books, new supplies... This year, my mom and I started looking at some classes down at the middle school. I'm in 8th grade now, so next year I'll be in high school (how freaking scary is that?!?!), so we decided to send me to a few classes.

So, first and second period, I'll be taking Algebra and creative writing or choir. AND MY FIRST DAY IS TOMORROW.

I'm still hyperventilating.

*soothing voice* All of us homeschoolers dread that we might go to public school one day.

BUT IT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING TO YOU?! OHMIGANDALF!!!!!

The best of luck to you. Let me know how it goes, 'kay?

Aughth! My worst nightmare! Going to school!

*talks to self.* calm down, Daisy. Breathe slowly... You are not going to school... You are homeschooled... Settle down.

Okay, sorry about that.  I hope you'll be fine! Uh, and do me a little favor, will you? Show all those public schoolers that homeschoolers aren't dumb. ;)

Well that was.... Interesting. Got my locker, my locker buddy, met my teachers... Didn't do any school at all. I suppose that's pretty normal, I was only there for the first two periods of the first day of school, but it's still a little weird. Oh well. I'll be back tomorrow!

You can do it, ballet! Yes, it is typical for the first few days you do barely any schoolwork. Actually, as someone who goes to "regular" school, I would hate to be homeschooled. I wouldn't get to see my friends, my teachers, do those awesome current event discussions, no group projects, no debate club, no author visits, no Pride Day, no science fair, no back-to-school pool party, and anyway, my parents are both scientests, so they probably couldn't teach me that well about the other subjects. (Like English. I usually end up correcting my mom.)

Same here with the English! If my mom had her way, math would be my life. And my dad's grammar is worse then my five-year-old grammar (I went to preschool so I learned to talk pretty fast).
