I candled the eggs again yesterday; they were doing great. Lockdown is in three days! I'm so excited!
Also, I just wanted you all to know, we caught the fox and it is now in a location where it won't ever get to our chickens again!

Sure, that'd be great! I'm probably going to end up selling about half of the chicks, though. We'd have almost seventy chickens if we kept them all! But I'd love name ideas anyway, because I'm definitely going to keep my favorites of the bunch. (Plus, I still haven't even named all of our adult chickens! We have quite a few...(Forty or so? Only seven or eight have names...) So, as you can see, I need lots of suggestions! I'm all out of ideas!

I'm not really sure who you are, and I don't believe we've met, but I was just thinking--what if you gave a few of your chickens the names of some CBers that are here? It's just an idea, and I am not asking you to name a chicken Icy. XD

I think that's a great idea! Actually, we do have a baby goat named Amber--Inspired by Clouded Leopard's first name! I'll keep my eyes open for a chicken that reminds me of a CBer!!
I'll post all the pics I've taken once the chicks hatch! (Which will be soon!)

Lockdown was on Friday, and as it turns out, I--[forgot to remove the red ventilation plugs? Yes, but that's not what I was going to say]--got my counting wrong--the chicks' hatching day is tomorrow.
But, lo and behold, nearly two days early comes the first two chicks! One is huge and black, and the other is most likely a lavender orpington. (She's still drying off.)
They started hatching yesterday afternoon! One is still pecking its way out.
