Ah, yes, AE is a very fascinating thing. As Admin said, it is an Alternate Ego. Some on the CB use it to show other parts of their personality (they use it as a character), while others use it just as a side character to chat with. Usually, they will talk in bold, italics, or bold and italics. They are really something to consider doing, it makes everything so much more interesting.

Yes, the "interesting" part is quite easy to find, and I suppose it keeps many people away from the AE world. If you only have one set personality and don't really find the need to develop something new in who you are, then AEs are not really something to take in. The main reason I do them is to add more of a living feeling to the CB, to join in more activities, and to show more of my personality in different ways.
