I saw Cayke's

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I saw Cayke's

I saw Cayke's thread, and I agree with her strongly.

Then I had a thought.

What if we get rid of the concept of race? It's just that. A concept.

There are cons as well ask pros to this idea, but still.

Any thoughts?!?!?!

I personally like the idea because it disconnects me from all the nerdy Asians of America, AND it gives me a much better chance to go to an IVY LEAGUE! Eee!

I completely agree, I wish we could get rid of the concept of race. But I just don't think it works that way. Race and religion is something as humans, we cannot just remove from our minds. In our hearts we might know that we are all truly the same as one another, but... you know. Our minds and consciousness like to betray what we feel due to social inclines. Society likes to say race and religions are all too far from each other for one person to be the same as another.

Sad thought, really.

It's an amazing idea, but not everyone is brave enough or nice enough (*cough*important political buisnessman in presidential race*cough*) to let that idea go. I don't really think it's possible, but if it were, I would love it.

You know, most people couldn't let this go, but if there's anybody who can let the term Race go, it's the CBers. Maybe you should start a project...

Yes, indeed. Many can't just let it go. And on that *cough*POLITICAL"PERSON"*cough cough* uh... He won't ever let that go. But Mei, you have enough determination to be able to create this into a CB project. I know you wouldn't let it go unnoticed, so that should be something to consider doing. I'd be the first to join for that project.

That's a really good idea. We are all the same speacies, Homo Sapiens. Why should it matter what we look like? What should matter is how we act, not how we appear. Attitude should be more importent than appearence. The consept of race is deeply ingrained into our present society, but we are the future of society. We can make a difference in it. We will make a difference. Because we are the children, the young adults if you prefer, the free thinkers with new ideas that can change the world. We need to make a difference because our society isn't perfect. It's so flawed. But if we can see the flaws, we can fix the flaws. We are the future. The future of the world.

On the other hand, I know that Asian people were treated no better then black people, and Asian people are completely invisible in almost every way, shape, and form, so it would be kinda nice for people to realize that black people aren't the only minority out there.

So. . . I don't know. I'm a Slytherin. I want to go to an Ivy! But it would still be nice to exist.

I understand what you mean, Mei. African Americans, Asians, and Native Americans are three of many ethnical groups that are treated as lower beings or even as invisible. I mean, look at what the government did to Native Americans. They came in, took their land, and threatened them, leaving no choice but to follow their rules. The government then moved them into tiny spots of land, overcrowded, unfertile land. Look at how they live now. I've been to numerous Indian reservations, being partly native myself. I see how they are treated.

Asian people and black people are the same way. They are either invisible are treated like scum. I hate thinking of either idea. Why can't people see we are all human. We all look different due to the places our ancestors lived. Due to climates and what it took to survive. If we all looked the same and had the same traits, most of the world would be dead by now. Humans had to adapt due to their habitats to survive.
