Woohoo! Another debate thread! There are so many things to debate about. We'll keep this organized, though, and it won't turn into a crazy war thing like in the Politics Thread. We'll have a judge, and then they'll organize a back-and-forth discussion! One team will start off with an argument. The next will either rebut the point with evidence against it, or accept it as a valid point. The judge decides whether or not a point is valid, and the judge decides whether it is invalidated by the other team. Then we'll repeat. And repeat. And repeat. Have fun!
I have quite a few suggestions for the debate. Here are some:
Whether or not Asian "Priviledge" exists (S.E. mentioned this once) (I find it laudable)
Global Warming (We could attempt this the friendly, organized way)
Clinton, Sanders or Trump
Is Slytherin evil?
Best HP House
To name a few.

I don't think we should do the Clinton, Trump, or Sanders, that will just lead to trouble, which is the last thing we need.
I also advise against is Slytherin evil and best HP House

School uniforms
Standardized testing or not
Should texting while driving be illegal
Should phones be allowed in school
Brexit- should Britain have left the European Union or not

I love this idea, but in agreement with things not getting too chaotic, maybe we can start with some safer topic like those that Owlgirl is suggesting and then maybe move on to some others, like 'is Slytherin evil' and stuff like that. I think that we should also all agree before discussing a topic to say that anything being said is not meant to hurt anyone's feelings in any way, shape, or form.
I want to play it safe at first because, as any of my friends know, I don't like drama.

Look it up. I've read quite a bit, and have come to the conclusion that the myth (I think it's a myth and have Proof) has sprung up from another myth that I think and can PROVE is a myth, the "model minority" myth. I won't go into details unless it's the debate topic, but let's just say that I would bet money on it. A lot of money.

I must. I cannot stop myself. In other words, I think it exists.
And I don't think Slytherin house in HP is evil. Dark, but not evil (there is a difference)
Best house? I think they're all equally as good.

Dark? I'm very ardent about Slytherin NOT being evil, but from all my studies of HP, I find that Slytherin's actually MORE evil than DARK.

Novelist, for the same reason I won't join this thread. But as for the topics, just to throw it out there:
Global Warming is a problem, but only because people are taking too long to notice THEY are the problem.
Slytherin, like you said, is dark. Not evil.
Best HP house is all of them put together. Separately, they are weak. Together they are... united, to say.
I'm not going to answer the presidential one due to... possible conflicts. And I don't know what Asian Privilege is, and I never have heard of them before.
School uniforms no, but dress code, yes.
Standardized testing... err...
Should texting while driving be illegal? YES. Look. At. Statistics. Sorry, that is just a big one.
Should phones be allowed in school? No. If a student needs to call someone as an emergency they can use a school phone.
The Brexit issue. No, I can see it all now... End of the World kind of thing. Again, sorry, I am a pessimist on most things.
Now, again, I won't join in this as an actual debate, for I don't really care for following up the sides of these issues. And I don't want to start fights.
