All right now. Once upon a time, long, long ago, I created a thread for the purpose of discussing the possible construction of a Chatterbox Newspaper.

Jack-A-Nat was going to create another thread for the idea when my first one disappeared into the irretrievable depths of page-not-1, but I haven't seen it anywhere, so I'm just going to create a new one for the purpose.

So what do you all think? I believe that an Advertisement Section especially would be immensely useful.

back to the Down to Earth

This is a unique idea, and I think it would be amazing to have! But I have one question. Unless I accidentally read over it on your old thread, would the newspaper remove let's say, a story, from the Inkwell? Or would it be both in the paper and on Inkwell? And do you know what the Admins would think of this? I know they would have a hard time adjusting the formatting of the CB for things like accounts or whatnot. So do you think they would allow this?

Overall, I love the idea! And if everything works well with the community and admins, maybe it will become a reality. If so, I would love to be one of the people to help run it for I have been a CB member for numerous years (even though I was busy for some time) and love to help others with projects like this.

 

It's fine if you run a newspaper thread. It would not delete any stories from Inkwell. You don't have the power to delete anything once it's posted. I'm not sure, but I think you can copy and paste from one thread to a new comment to be posted, but if you do that, be sure to include the name of the author of the  work you are copying.

Great idea! This is something that has been tried numerous times, and everytime it has been successful for a while...and then it died. I'd love to see you keep it going for a few months, at least!

Hi! I'm glad a few people lile the idea.

Ashlee: We would not delete anyone's stories from anywhere on CB, even if we could. The way I see it, the folk running the story part of the newpaper would sweep through the Chatterbox looking for stories, and if they spot one that appeals to them, they would notify the owner and ask permission before copying the story for the newspaper. So the person who does this would have to have a good eye for literature. And, with the actual number of stories on the Chatterbox, I think that everyone's story(ies) would get into the newspaper at some point. 

Shadowcat: Your request would fit perfectly into a Notification part of the Newspaper. You would enter your link to that thread in the Notification thread. There would also be a Notification-empoyee to brush through the Chatterbox looking for notification-worthy events--new Cbers arriving, Cbers leaving, Cbers returning etc. It might start our rather chaotic, but I believe it will smoothen out once we all get the feel for it.
