I'm baaack!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I'm baaack!

I'm baaack!

Yup, it's me Cho Chang, previously known as Eówyn. Lent is now over, so that means it is EASTER!!! Well, Bunnymunde and I are happy about that.

Laughing

Your pal has been very busy. I've been cleaning up the whole house, making computer games, reaching 62.8% on Lego LoTR for the Xbox, searching for my Easter basket (haven't found it yet!) building a Lego Victorian house, drawing a manga mermaid, and drawing another manga picture, whilst watching Masterchef junior.

You've probably noticed that I'm calling myself Cho Chang. Well, I have been having an identity crisis. On the cb. I just don't identify with the name Eówyn. She doesn't represent me. She's a great charrie, don't get me wrong, but I feel like I'm Cho Chang. Not Eówyn.

Guess what! My half month cbversery past, and I forgot about it! I want to say thank you to the Admins, and every. Single. One. Of. You. Cbers.

You guys are some of my closest friends!

Oh, I'm so sorry! I do that sometimes, nasty habit of mine :/ I'll definitely make an effort to stop doing that if it makes you feel upset. Please know that I didn't have bad intentions. Again, I'm sorry. Please forgive me.

Admins, just one more please.

That's fine Mei! If you want to be called that, and are satisfied, then good. But Eówyn isn't my name. It just doesn't click.

And Mei, can you please stop pressuring me into changing my name. To tell the truth, I only changed my name because I thought you would be happy, and if you were happy, I would be happy. But I was wrong.

It's true, your first name doesn't have to be your "true" name, but that doesn't mean it CAN'T be. I think that this issue has already been talked about to the extent and should be over. I cannot stress enough that it is CHO'S decision. Nobody else's. That is the solution. This conflict should end now.

I just wanna say, WELCOME BACK!!! YAYAYAY!

And, I agree with your name choice.

Yes, "chou" sounds like "Cho," but it isn't. Chou is a word and Cho is a name.

Thank you Novelist.

Admin, just this last one. Please. I need to get it out.

I'm so sorry. But I can't!

I know it's not meant that way, but it feels really hurtful and offensive. I hate when Asian names are put off like that; Like it doesn't matter the meaning, IF IT SOUNDS WEIRD, IT'S ASIAN.

I once heard this really racist joke. It goes, "How do you name a Chinese person? You drop a fork down the stairs. It'll go: Ching, Chang, Clang, Chink, Chonk, Ping, Ding, Dong."

I'm not implying that any of you guys are racist, it's just when I see the name, it reminds me of that hurtful joke. I feel a tug whenever I read someone say, "Cho Chang said", or something like that. It reminds me of J.K. Rowling's carelessness, of all the racism in the world. And I don't know why!

I am way too sensitive. I get sad at the slightest thing, and will cry over literally anything. I can't convince you, but I want you to at least know the pain I go through. I hate racism, and IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT that I'm sensitive. I'm sorry.

Admin, can you post this one last comment? I poured my soul into it.

We know how sad racism must make you, Mei. You are not too sensitive and you should be allowed to feel however you feel. As a Black person, I know that these things hurt. I hear and see them every day, everywhere I go. Please keep sharing how you feel, but don't feel pressured to educate each and every person. It's exhausting. My advice is that you find a community of people who understand where you are coming from and who can talk about these issues with you, and it might not be on the CB. Sending love and support your way.

It's okay Mei. I like the asian culture a lot! It's a very special and unique culture. I'm afraid J.K. Rowling just didn't look up real asian names. If I had an asian charrie, I would definitely look it up. I always research a name before I use it, if I don't know where it comes from.

Hi! Welcome back! Happy half CBversary!

Yeah, I have to say, I like Cho Chang better. I hate to get involved, but I don't really understand this while argument / heated discussion about "Cho." Saying "Cho means stinky" just because it sounds like Chou and Chou means stinky is like saying people from Crete are all idiots because their term sounds the same as "cretin." It just seems kind of silly to me. But I agree with Admins in that I'd like the whole thing to stop, so I won't say more.

Oh, and happy belated Easter! =)

Yes, it was, and I didn't even want to post!

Now that's pretty horrible.

Sloth says gaya. Do you lik Lady Gaga? Well, if you do, I'll have to find a new CAPTCHA.

Welcome back, Cho! I think that name fits you much better! Mei, those are all good name ideas, but Cho should make her own name decisions. Anyhow, let's not dwell on the whole name deal and celebrate Cho's return!
