Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I'm changing my

I'm changing my name!
This is Leaf of Love. I'm trying out a new idea that may or may not work. No one has ever tried it before.
Instead of choosing a single name, I will post under a different Chinese name every time I post (I'm Chinese). This may not work, it's just an experiment.
Right now I'm posting under Cho Chang's Chinese name, Qiu Zhang (pronounced Chee-yoh Jah-ng). The last name comes first in Chinese, but right now, I'm not sure if Admin will change it to Qiu Z, and I don't want it to be Zhang Q. because Zhang is the last name. So right now I'm posting with the first name first.
But don't worry, CBer Cho C. I won't steal your name for long. I might make up some Chinese names, I might use my friend's names, I might even use the name of a character from a movie or show I like. On every post I will explain what the name means.
Bottom line is, if it sounds like it's Chinese, it's me.

Yes, I try to keep the Name field in line with the little regulation beneath it: First name & Last name initial only, e.g., John S.

Then how come the CBer Cho Chang can post with the first and last name?

I change it to Cho C. in the name box, but another Admin thinks it's OK to leave the last name if it's obviously not a person's real name. I know that Cho Chang is a character in Harry Potter, but everyone else may not. I want to call attention to the rule below the name box. It's easier to be consistent.

What if I state in every post that I made the name up or it's a fictional character? If I write it out, then everyone will know.

Yes, in the text of the comment that's OK. But in the Name box, please go by the rule.

I think this is an interesting idea... although if we want to talk to you, how do we address you? As Leaf of Love? As the last name you used? Also, what if someone with a Chinese name comes onto the CB? How will we know it isn't you? Plus, people tend to like a name to associate with a person. I definitely do.

Just pointing out some minor things.

I agree with OtR. I think it would be a lot easier for everyone if you picked one name.

You can address me however you want. And if a Chinese person comes to the CB then I'll settle on a name.

Seriously, you can even address me as "The Chinese Girl" and I'll respond.

This is going to confuse the heck out of me. I think I'll keep calling you Leaf, if that's alright.
