Happy Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras!
Happy Mardi Gras!
My family's celebration of this is rather lame, consisting mostly of cheesecake.
Sigh......
Is anyone else doing anything more exciting?
I'm going to a church pancake and sausage supper. The tradition is to use up all the meat and meat fat (cook the pancakes in it) before Lent begins tomorrow. It's "all you can eat" for $5.00 per person, and the proceeds go to a good cause.

What's Mardi Gras?
Mardi Gras (French for Fat Tuesday) is the day before Ash Wednesday. The reason for the name is explained in my message above.
The city of New Orleans has a huge Mardi Gras celebration spread out over several days and includes a big parade.

At my school, we have this weird class on Tuesdays called Wolfpack Hour, (cause our mascot is a wolf) and I have the French teacher as my Wolfpack teacher. Since it was Mardi Gras, we had a Mardi Gras party! :) It was so fun! She decorated the room with gold, purple, and green confetti, masks, and various Mardi Gras decor, and we got to eat lots of sweet food for the half hour (before lunch) Wolfpack Hour class. :)
