I need a friend.

I am really lonely and I havn't spoken to another kid my age in weeks. Maybe even a month. I had a penpal but I havn't gotten a letter in two, three, four weeks. Honeslty I feel like I am on an island alone. I need some help.

Legolas says utou. You too? You need to learn to spell Legolas.

aww.. Sappy stuff. Everyone on CB is your friend, and if that's not enough, keep sending your pen pal letters until you get a reply. Take a walk far enough down your street that the kids living there go to a different school, and see if anyone's playing outside. If your homeschooled, you won't have to walk very far. Ask someone in your class a question about the lesson or something, (even if you already know the answer) and spark a conversation off of that. Find an online friend! Talk about your interests (the louder the better) and some else who likes the same stuff as you might overhear and try to talk to you (this happened to me before and it's not as awkward as it sounds). If you want you could just try to eavesdrop on people and if you overhear them talking about something you like, talk to them!

Elvina, I wish I could say I was your friend! I have never met you in my life, probably, so I don't know.... Sorry! My life's sad too, and I'm usually seclusive, but people always want to talk to me! And it was probably wrong to put them in my book. Because then they just give me more attention.

Oh, Elvina, I'm feeling the same way too. That's why I come to the Cb. It's like a safe haven. But we still need physical friends, who were can actually hug, and actually stand up against those bullies who hate us for no reason. I'm sorry that I'm not much help, but *hugs*

Oh, Elvina! We're your friends! I won't give you advice on making friends, for I'm not much good at it myself, but remember that we're her for you! *hugs*

We're your friends, Elvina. Always will be! Oh, off the subject, do you have any hobbies?

Find a place to talk to others. I know it's hard, but I know from experience-- NO MATTER HOW MUCH OF AN ANTISOCIAL NUTJOB YOU ARE, THERE WILL ALWAYS BE MORE ANTISOCIAL NUTJOBS OUT THERE.

I really think myself really crazy. You guys haven't met me outside of the CB, but what I am in real life is a crazy (and also, admittedly, loose-tongued) individual who gets overenthusiastic about all the unimportant things, yells about things no one else has heard of, and doesn't censor anything she thinks, no matter how morbid, crazy, arbitrary, or loose-tongued it is.

And yet, I've met people like me, people who are just as much nutjobs and fangirls and insane, uncensored individuals. And, well, I've managed to become friends with them.

Here's my advice in a (big) nutshell. Get out there, get social, and above all be yourself. If you can't be yourself around someone, someday the shell will crack. You have to find someone who will accept you for you, so there is no hidden part that will inevitably leak through over time. You can't change for someone else. And I guarantee you WILL find someone who will be a good friend in those respects.
