How did you

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

How did you

How did you first come on CB? CB stories!

This is partly in response to the lots of people I'd like to get to know better and partly because I was browsing the deepest darkest depths of Diamond's deepest darkest dungeon... just kidding. I was looking way, way back into Down to Earth and I found... I found what may be my first post ever. Ever. June 6, 2014. June Sixth! Twenty fourteen! The post is below (and if you find it on page twelve or thirteen, way back in the archives, you can find my name! The name I used to post with before Air). It's made me think about CB a little more: how did you come on?

I came on during Crowd Sorcery. I wasn't on time to write or vote on a hero or heroine (Fable Thatcher) but I wrote a sidekick, who didn't make it in. I voted on the sidekicks and villains. I'm not sure how long I was on Crowd Sorcery before I ventured into the actual chatterbox. This was my first post, and I think I did a lot of reading and playing around with different nicknames before joining a few RPs as Air. I don't think I ever RPed as my real name. My first RP was the Underwater Sci-Fi RP based on The Neptune Project by Polly Holyoke. Quite obviously, this failed because of the complete obscurity of the book. I'll always be grateful to Danie and Squeak for joining it, though.

I feel bad that I've never been a really strong presence on CB like St.Owl or Brookeira or BHR or Teresa or Indigo or Danie or Everinne or Ruby or Theo W. or Vida or any of the many many others I could mention. I've joined a few RPs, made a few RPs. I left but now I'm quasi-back. Anyway, my new-not-new-year's resolution is to try to be a stronger presence.

Who are you? How did you come on CB? What's your CB history (so far)?

"Did you know that Frozen was supposed to be based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale The Snow Queen? In that story, the main characters are friends, a boy and a girl. A evil troll has a mirror that makes whoever has a part of it see the whole world as evil. When the boy gets a piece of the mirror accidentally, he runs away because he thinks the girl is evil, and the snow queen captures him and makes him a slave in her palace. Luckily the girl comes and rescues the boy. It's really different from the movie Frozen.

I thought it was really cool how the true love in the movie was sister love not romantic love. I think that's really great after all the other Disney princess movies being more about romance.

It's really about girl power, so I think it's great!"

Hi Air! I'm kinda new, but my first comment was a couple of months ago, August i think. Back then I wasn't Aquina, I just used my real name. I've read The Snow Queen and seen the play, and I think it's really cool!

Let nobody rain on your parade (make you feel bad)!

When I got my first Cricket magazine, there was an add for crowd sorcery. So I went online to crowd sorcery and got really excited... But then I was just a little bit too late. I was really disappointed, but then I explored the website and found CB, so I asked my dad to join and he said yes and here I am today!

The way I came in was a crowd-sorcery post. A late villain one. I was Spottedleaf back then. Anyway, I got off for about a year and recently (Was it September?) started with an interest. My villain post was:

1) Name

Kino (it means "bad" in Maori)

2) Physical appearance

Kino is extremely beautiful. She has long, black hair that falls down her back in waves. Her amber eyes sparkle with menace and shine like topaz. Kino's flawless skin is coffee colored and she has the ability to turn into a gryphon.

3) Background

Kino really has no reason to be evil. Oh wait, I forgot: when she was a child, she was playing outside with her five siblings and parents when she became engaged in the first battle of her life. It brought the death of all of her family except her brother. He soon went away to live with their aunts. Kino, a lone survivor, was left all alone with a feel of revenge. (It turns out that the leader of the attack was the main character, although Kino did'nt know it at the time.)

4) Lair

Kino now resides in a network of underground tunnels, somewhat like the Labyrinth from Greek Mythology (created by Daedalus).

5)Kino's goal is to seek out revenge on the main character. She does not yet know what she will do or how she'll do it, but will soon.

6) Attitude toward the hero

Kino's attitude toward the hero is unforgiving and cruel. Her heart hasn't completely frozen yet, though. She still believes that their is hope and that once the hero kills her will join her family in the afterlife.

7) The villain is stronger than the hero because of her logic. She is the best at solving problems and riddles in her family (dead & alive). She can use this as a weapon against the hero.

8) Kino is tough, but has one weakness: her inability to see past the grief and anger that now blinds her. All she wanted was revenge, but should've seen a logical reason that would solve her problem. Also if she knew a little more about her family's past that involved the main character, she would've known why half her family was no longer with her...

9) It's kind of obvious.

So the deal is that I forgot to put CS sentences, and obviously my post was late because I have no regard for due dates except for homework.

Oh man, I don't know if any of the regulars around here remember me joining? I joined maybe in July of 2011 - I'd been subscribed to Cricket for a year and we'd just moved from Chicago to Nashville, which meant I was spending this summer in a practically empty new apartment with no friends in the area or method of obtaining them. So I ended up going on the CB - I think I may have posted a poem I wrote in fifth grade? Not even really sure about that?? - but I am sure that I posted on an RP and then quit because I realized my writing was bad, used capslock a lot, and then - after a month or so of meandering, it all sort of fell into place.

Probably this was because I started Anyone Want To Start An RP About Dragons™ and made friends through that (one of which I'm actually still in contact with!) and kept it going through drill-sergeaent levels of "Somebody please post!!!!" (like. we literally had a code to swear that we would write on the RP forever, although I'm pretty sure that one was SC's idea.)

Anyway, the CB definitely helped me a ton through sixth grade, and the Dragon RP was definitely my first committed, long-term writing project, even though I learned nothing about how to write a romantic storyline and continued to know nothing until, like, two years later.

I quit in seventh grade maybe a year later - even though my time posting regularly here felt like much, much longer - because I sort of chose another website and my school friends over it. I've had periodic returns, but mostly I just pop in here when I'm in the mood!

(or when I'm trying to avoid making up yesterday's lost word count. ew. maybe I should get on that.)

I joined the CB about four years ago. (I don't remember specific date.) I was reading Cricket, shortly after I had first started receiving it, when I noticed mention of the Cricket website. From there I found the CB, I made my first comment, and the rest is history. Not the most exciting of stories, but the cb definitely made a big impact on me, and I've loved being on here! It's a very special place, and it changes people just as much as we change it, no matter how they come across it.

I completely forget why I came on the CB. I think I was just infuriated with all of those "via the Chatterbox" things in the Letterbox and wanted to find out what all the fuss was about. My first post ever was with my real name-- no, I am not saying what it was-- on January 12, 2015. Then I vanished for about ten days and posted on the same thread on January 23, 2015, under both this name and my real name. Because Savvy replied to me. Via real name. Although misspelled.

Ahaha, I'm looking back at this and thinking how much I've changed. OMG count in one comment= about 5. :D

Also, on the same day I posted my first comment, I made my first thread-- under St.Owl-- about a manga series called Yotsuba&! Looking back on it now, all I can think is Emoji galore! :D Oh, yeah, and look, an OMG.

My first RP post was on January 24, 2015. It makes me smile. I had so much fun with that Hunger Games RP... but Loretta? It was Lucelle! Always Lucelle! Lucelle from District 6!

Ahem. Sorry.

I also really wanted to join Alias's RP. The one about the refrigerator? I thought it was really clever, but I couldn't join because there were already about eight pages. And everyone took the characters I wanted.

Well, I can't find the first RP I ever posted. Considering, it was probably a Hogwarts RP. I did find the Hybrid RP, though! Hmm... maybe I should revive that....

I have found a post ender when I can't find a good last sentence! Peace, love, and frogs.

I joined on May 9th 2015, and I have been posting all the time ever since. I first came across the CB when I wanted to send something to the Letterbox. I accidentally went to the Chatterbox instead, and 6 months later, I still never sent anything to the Letterbox. The first thread I ever posted on was Pickle Problems, made by Luna. The first RP I ever joined was the FANTASTICAL RP, made by Rose Bud, that is still being written, and hopefully will be finished someday. The first RP I made was an Eragon RP that died after about 2 weeks. Realizing that I have been on here for 6 months makes me feel like much less of a "newbie" than I thought I was. I love it here, and I plan to stay for as long as I can.

@Air- To me, you're right up there with Indigo, Danie, St. Owl, and all the others that you mentioned!

Unfortunately, my first post was on a crowd sorcery thread which has now been deleted, so I cannot tell you EXACTLY when I joined.

I was digging through old posts, and found one by Phoenix from 2008. I don't know if it was the Phoenix we know today, but it would be pretty cool if it was.

I joined the CB a month and three days ago. Moonshadow told me about it, (We're close friends) and i joined, and fell in love. I think the first RP I joined was either Coconut the dog's warriors RP, or St. Owl's hogwarts one. I REALLY enjoy it here! Keep posting guys!

Misty says cita. CIA? Rabbits can't join the CIA!!

I joined on- let me check the thread-November 7th, 2015. So, like,16 days ago. Yeah, REALLY new. Well actually, I came on a few times maybe a  year ago, as kittycatkitty. I think I faintly remember Blond Heroines Rule. Anyway, I came on then because I actually wanted to do Crowd Sorcery, but I was lazy and interested in other things so I didn't actually come on until Crowd Sorcery was over. Like I said, I posted a few times, then lost interest. Recently, I saw the Chatterbox mentioned in Cricket and decided to come on. This was my first post (under KittyGirl):

"I'm sorry, I'm one of the new ones. I want to contribute and be like the "oldies" and help you all enjoy the Chatterbox (CB?). I hope I don't ruin things by trying to help, I want to enjoy the Chatterbox as well. I don't really know what you mean by the 'old' Chatterbox, but if I can help, I will. Also, What is this AE war you are talking about? If it helps you understand how I want to help and get it back the way it was, I think I have a pretty good use of grammar and can RP pretty well.

P.S. I know people name their CAPTCHAs. Any suggestions for what I should name mine?

This was on St.Owl's thread about people leaving. I continued to join Lindsey R's Olympus Academy RP, (this sounds like an autobiography) then Katydid's Victorian Gala RP. I really want to join one of the Murder Mystery Ski Lodge things, or whatever they are called.

Wow. That sounded a lot like an autobiography. Well, thats my story. I couldn't figure out how to resize the quoted post.
