Today, my first
Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Today, my first
Today, my first grade teacher died.
She was so wonderful. She taught me so much, and I remember her impact to this day. She never stopped teaching, and never retired at the age of 68 or so. It may seem young to die, but she had a severe form of cancer. She loved her work so much that she didn't let that stop her. She literally lived for teaching. Going to the school every day to see all the first graders and to teach them kept her alive much longer than expected. She is a role model to us all, and I will miss her smile and hello, which she gave to every child she passed in the halls.
I'm so sorry, OtR. You remind me of a wonderful story we had in Spider called "First Grade Is Forever." Those memories will be with you forever. She will live on in the lives of all her former students.

Oh, I'm sorry. How did you find out?

Top! Top, top, top!
We were told at lunch. We had an all-school assembly after recess. (My school is K-8) Many of the teachers were crying.

So much death....Even though Hallia said uhbi. Which is strange, because right now, a bee is trying to get into my house via closed window. Psychic CAPTCHAs.

Sorry, totally off topic, but what's a CAPTCHA?
It's the code you're asked to type before you can submit a comment.

I understand how you feel OtR. I just lost my adopted grandma. Let us all pray for OtR and hug her while crying for her loss.

I'm nearly in the same position, only my biological grandma is dying and every time I see her, another part of me withers and dies. It's sad, really. She has cancer. Too much. I can sense the death on her. Sense it. I can see it, hear it, smell it, and touch it. Too much death, too much somberness. There is no cheer here. Hallia has nothing good to say. Ymgd means nothing to me.

I'm so sorry OtR. I'll be praying for you. Your teacher lived a great life, though, and enjoyed it. She helped a lot of children, including you, so her life was definitely lived to the fullest.

I'm so sorry. She sounds like an amazing person. I don't know what I would do if I lost a teacher like that. I suppose I'm not helping to cheer you up at all. *hugs*
