WOAH WOAH HELLO THERE!

Yes, it is actually me, practically back from the dead! I randomly went on a nostalgia trip and found this old thread. I was NOT expecting it to still exist. I'm sure everyone I used to talk to on here has long moved on like I have but gosh! I'm so happy to have a literal archive of some of my teenage tomfoolery around. Reading through some of them has caused me physical pain but I can't help but be fond of it all despite all of the cringe. This feels like a time capsule straight into my childhood and I'm honestly quite grateful to see that cricket is still up and running. There are so many memories I have on this website and so many things are different since I was active on here.

I'm very happy to say that Leafmist, General Waffleson, and I are still friends. I love them to death and they are still some of the most kind and genuine people that my life has graced me with. I'm actually planning to reach out to the both of them soon so we can all meet up again. Perhaps I'll drag them down this rode of nostalgia with me. Both of them still write, I'm sure, much like I still do. Even though we have grown so much as people and changed in ways none of us could have imagined, none of us lost that passion for creativity that we all found through writing with our friends on here.

As for me, a lot of changes have happened. My love for the Percy Jackson series has never faded, nor my obsession with Nico di Angelo. (I cannot put into words how thrilled I am over the television series finally being brought to reality.) I still love him enough to the point where when I discovered I was a boy I stole and used his name! Writing and reading have been such important tools for self discovery for me and I hope they are for you all on here too. Environments like this are so important during childhood because everyone deserves to have a safe space to explore the worlds of their own making. I genuinely believe that having this space during my childhood allowed me to improve my writing to the point where I wouldn't be where I am today without it. Right now I'm in a top college because of my writing and I feel like I owe a bit of a thank you to cricket. 

I wish whatever mod is reading this a lovely night... or day. Know that you are making a difference in children's lives, like past mods have made in mine. This may just be a small corner of the internet but for some kids it's an entire world.

As for all the new cricketers out there (at least new compared to my "ancient" self), don't ever stop loving to create and explore. Those are some of the most important qualities you can carry over from your childhood. I know when I was younger I had a horrible fear that going into adulthood would just cause the world to become gray and dull, but keeping that love for creation and exploration keeps life as a permanent adventure. 

Gushy mushy icky sticky heartfelt rant over! Cleanup on isle 10 for all of my dramatically shed ghibli tears.
