You're right they're manipulating you. I suggest threatening to tell the teacher. There's never anything wrong with getting help. They do these things because they think they can get away with it. I also suggest to not reacting to anything they say. Most of the time they only do that to get a rise outta ya. Just don't let them get to yo. Keep your chin up and remember you're holding yourself to better standards.
