Chatterbox: Down to Earth

I need advice. 

I really want want to start Horseback riding come spring, and I have no idea ow to tell my parents. Yes I know it's expensive and that's the thing. I'm willing to give up Christmas up, an only get that. I keep having dreams about it and it's taunting me. How would you guys ask your parents? Do you think it's stupid to hope?
