Chatterbox: Down to Earth

8th grade is

8th grade is SOOOOO much better than 7th grade.

I mean, I have better teachers, there's more opportunities to get extra credit, (and in my school, 8th grade is the year your grades really start affecting high school and even what college you get into) and I'm even making friends with former enemies. I'm also one of the oldest kids in the school for the first time since 5th grade. Sure, that'll all change in high school next year, but by then I'll be more than prepared for it.

So how about you all? How's your school year going so far?

8th grade! Me too!

My eighth grade isn't going so well... {RANT INCOMING TAKE COVER} So the middle school part of my school is a small school and you're supposed to have the same eight teachers for three years, sixth through eighth. The teachers I had in sixth were the teachers that had been teaching in those spots for three years and they were really good. Then in seventh two retired so I had two new teachers, and midway through the year one of those two moved campuses so another new teacher (who was much better) came in. So I had three new teachers. Now this year three other teachers left so I have new teachers in three subjects, one of my original teachers teaching a different subject, and the two teachers who were new last year. The two new teachers from last year are now the strongest and steadiest, which is pretty crazy. One of the three new teachers is really strict (but good), one seems pretty incompetent, sadly, and one is a former elementary teacher and treats us like fifth graders. :-( Our teacher who's teaching a new subject seems to be adjusting as much if not more than we are.

Also I have to do high school applications which are STRESSFUL aghhhh.

{RANT OVER}

But on the other hand, I'm running for student council president, captaining the science bowl team, and tutoring some sixth graders.

Eighth graders unite!
