Chatterbox: Down to Earth
Update! Hi, Guys!
Update! Hi, Guys!
Hi, guys. Does anyone remember me? I feel like I haven't been on in so long, and I've missed it. I remember that I used to spend hours here, and I would show my teachers all the wonderful things we do here. But as time has gone on, my life has just gotten busier and busier and busier. And when I check these threads, I don't recognize any of the names! There are so many new people and although it's kind of overwhelming, it's also pretty cool.
To the older CBers: How are you guys doing? I haven't been on here in waaaaay too long, so I'm sorry for that! I hope you all are having wonderful summers.
To the newer CBers: Hi! I'm Madeline, and I've been on here for a pretty long time. I'm fourteen. If you think of the Chatterbox as a colony (oh great, here I go talking in metaphors again), I'd say that I joined when the settlement was moving along. I remember that everyone was so welcoming, and I knew everyone's names. Now I see it as a suburb that's growing into a bigger city. It's great for Cricket!
To the people who know me (including the admins), thank you for everything that you've done for me. All of your comments on my writing are just so constructive and sweet and they make me day 100% better. I don't think that I will be able to join any RPs soon, or maybe ever again because I am just so busy. But that doesn't mean that I am not still around, poking my head in from time to time. I might occasionally post some of my writing on the Inkwell again if I deem it worthy enough. I always love to see what you guys think.
Let me get to the life update really quick (I get off track really easily; please bear with me and try to read through this): My summer has been jam-packed with activities. I've had family trips, highschool soccer contact days, futsal trainings, futsal nationals (ID camp), cross country training, my own personal projects, hanging out with friends, and my family is also getting ready to get a dog again (we're actually going to look at puppies in a couple hours which is very exciting).
Next school year, I will be in ninth grade. I am taking Geometry (I skipped a year in math at my school) and Expanded English, which will give me a lot of homework, along with cross country practices until 6:00 every night in the fall and soccer in the spring, and whatever clubs I may be joining (like NHS and stuff like that). Like I said, my life is very busy right now! (:
But enough about me.... Does Everinne still come on here? Everinne, if you're reading this, I miss you. You were always like a big sister to me. Nora The Singer, I miss you too. I always loved talking to you and reading your writing. And Katie M, you are a very good writer and I miss our friendship. Bookbug, thanks for all of the amazing comments that you've given me. You were always so supportive of my writing and I really appreciate that. I miss Joe's imaginings, even if I didn't know him super well. I especially miss the ski lodges. And Ellie and SAVVY were always spunky -- they were pretty new when I met them. (There are more people and things that I miss but I'm not going to list them all since this is already getting long, so please please please don't be offended if I didn't mention you.)
Also, as a side note, does anyone remember that poem I wrote in November of 2014, called "For Love Of The Game"? It was about futsal. I found the link, so if you want to read it you can find it here: http://www.cricketmagkids.com/chatterbox/inkwell/node/149362
(please ignore the little comment above the poem, why I was being that arrogant at the time I have no idea, sorry). Aaaaanyways, my futsal coach nominated me to be eligible to go to the national futsal ID camp in Kansas to try out for the US youth national futsal team. Unfortunately, I was injured so I was not able to attend the regional camp, which is what you do before nationals to see if you are able to even get to the national level. In the email that I sent to the youth futsal staff explaining why I couldn't go, I sent them my poem. They loved it so much that they actually featured me ON THE NATIONAL FUTSAL WEBSITE!! I was so excited! (I may have told you guys this already. I really can't remember.) After that, I got an email saying that I was eligible to go to nationals! So I got to drive all the way from Wisconsin to Kansas to participate in the ID camp. I did not make the team this year but I learned so much and became a much better player. Now that they actually know about me and now that I know the style of play that they are looking for, I am going to come back next year and maybe I will have a better chance at making the team. We played three times a day -- one training and two games a day. It was the most intense that I have every played! One of the sets of games was from 9-10pm every night, which was pretty late to play! I was trying out for the u16 team because it was 1999 and 2000 birth years, and I'm December of 2000. This means that I was the youngest one for my age group. I made a friend from New Hampshire that is two years older than me. It was crazy!
Well, I guess it's time to wrap up this kahoona of rambles. Thanks for reading, and feel free to start a conversation down below, because I've missed all of you!
Stay cool, hang loose, admit nothing (& peace out for now),
Madeline

Okay, I just finished reading your whole post. OH MY GOD you were on the National Futsal Website!! And you got to go to the nationals!! I'm so happy for you, Madeline! I read your poem, and it's awesome! I know you're going to be a famous writer someday and when you do I'm going to be the first one at your book signing when you publish a bestseller.

Aw Bookbug thanks so much! That means a lot!(:
Hehe I don't think I'll be famous though. That would be cool!

Hai! I'm going to be the first person you don't know to post on here!
I'm St.Owl and I joined in late January. I am *deep breath* Harry Potter Trivia Champion, Huffleclaw, Champion of District Twelve, Worshipper of Hestia, Daughter of Athena, Silvertongue-In-Training... am I missing anything...? No, I don't think so.
Anyway... um, yep. I'd introduce you to my AE and sidekick, but one is shy and the other isn't very good at greetings. So.... well... nice to meet you!
