Hey, I was thinking, it would be cool if we got to know you a little bit, since you're like in charge of posting everything! First of all, is there a team of you, or just one person?
There is more than one of us!

Phew! Cause that would be a REALLY hard job!! ;)
(March 16, 2009 - 8:21 pm)
Do you all live in Illinois? :)
(March 18, 2009 - 5:00 pm)
That's where the mag is located, so I think they do.
(March 19, 2009 - 7:41 am)
Well, if they work only on the computer, they don't have to.
Do you all work in Illinois? (that was to the Admin, Admin)
Yes, mostly in Illinois, unless we're traveling.
(March 19, 2009 - 9:33 pm)
Oh. (Admin) My dad grew up in Illinois!!!!! :) It would be cool if one of you guys knew him when he was a kid... although, for some reason, I mostly picture most of you as kinda young... hmm...
Maybe because it doesn't seem like older people would want a job like this. Do they??
Some of us are older, Laura, but we're all young at heart! Illinois is a big state, and I grew up in New York.

Where would you travel?
(March 20, 2009 - 10:19 pm)
Oh, I know Illinois is big. :)
It's just, my dad is always running into people he knows cause he's a teacher. I thought it would be neat. Unlikely, but neat. :)
Do you all answer the questions we have, or is it just a few of you, or even just a main person? I'm guessing that it's who ever is editing the post, but still, it's worth asking. :) You guys hear so much about us, it's nice to hear about you!! Hey, to who ever is reading this, what color is your hair? I need a visual!!! :D :D :D
Laura, we try to answer all the questions that are asked of us as we post the comments. Some of the comments we post, however, have questions that can be better answered by other Chatterboxers. I have brown hair.
You can send more questions to mail@cricketmagkids.com, if you'd like; then I can answer you personally without necessarily posting the reply on the Chatterbox.

I'm brown-haired.
(March 20, 2009 - 11:11 pm)
Ok, thank you. I'm brown-haired, too.
(March 21, 2009 - 11:26 am)
Ok, this HAS to be abbrieviated. Now when you're on at the same time as someone, you say this:
IAOATSTAY hee hee.
Ok, nevermind. It's too long. :(
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Oh, by the way, I'm on at the same time as... hold on... Oh, MAGGIE!!!!
HI, MAGGIE!!
(March 20, 2009 - 10:30 pm)
Actually, I had to log off around that time. I was up way-way too late. (I usually go to bed around 9:00 but my parents were at a dance, and my brother said I didn't have to go to bed at 9!)
(March 21, 2009 - 7:03 am)
Oh. A dance? People still do that? Cool!!!!!!
(March 21, 2009 - 10:37 pm)
Hey, Admin.!
I was wondering...
How does the process of checking our posts work? I know that you read the posts (that's kind of obvious) but do you just skim them over? What sort of things do you look out for specifically? If these questions are answered, I think that it might make your job a lot easier because responsible posters will not accidentally send an inappropiate comment out of ignorance.
Thanks for listening to me,
~ Megan
Megan, there are Chatterbox rules listed off the Chatterbox home page. It is important to obey the rules when using the Chatterbox:
RULE #1 Be nice. The Chatterbox is for Cricket
readers to exchange ideas in an open and friendly manner. As in the
Letterbox printed in the magazine, disagreements should be polite and
fair.
Rule #2 Fill out the submission form completely when posting a comment. Be sure NOT to include your e-mail or other address.
Links to other Web sites will not be posted.
In addition we will not post anything about any subject we consider too mature for our youngest readers (who may be 7 or 8).
We skim all the posts with this in mind. We also appreciate good grammar, punctuation, spelling, proper use of upper and lowercase letters, etc.

Hi, Admin, I have a question. Sorry I'm asking it in the "get-to-know-Admin" thread but I can't find the question one. So: every comment and post has a time at the bottom. Is that the time the person clicked "submit" on their comment or the time it appeared on the website?
Good question, Allison, but I don't know the answer. I've passed your question on to our Webmaster. It may not be easy for me to find this thread again, so send the same question again in a few days and I'll let you know if I have an answer for you then.

Well, it's strange, I think it's when you hit submit, because sometimes something I write doesn't get posted until the next day, but it still has the date that I posted it. The strange thing is, it often isn't correct, for instance, once it said something like, oh, I don' know, one in the morning, and I had clearly not posted that late. I use to think it was on EST, but now I'm not so sure.
It's very puzzling. :)
