Terrifying Experience
Hi. I had a completely terrifying experience today, as you can probably guess.
My cousins/family/ and I were at a park a few miles from my house rollerblading and stuff like that when my dad got to talking to this lady with a huge dog with fur about eight inches long. I adore dogs, and they normally love me, but this dog didn't for some reason.
I had just rollerbladed the 2/3 mile loop around the park with my cousin when we saw the dog. I asked the lady if I could pet it, and she said that he was the sweetest dog ever and would love it. Because the dog was a stranger, I reached out to let it sniff my hand.
When I did, it lunged at me and tried to bite my hand. Affter I had retracted my hand, it was lunging at my belly and trying to bite me. It was terrifying. If the lady hadn't been holding the leash, I think it would have really hurt me.
I was not exactly scared at the time, just upset that the dog hated me that much.
SO much that it would try to hurt me.
My uncle suggested that the dog might have been abused or something and I reminded it of it's owner, but I just have no idea.
It was terrifying.
And it was a big dog. Imagine a German Sheperd (a large one at that) with eight inch fur and really big teeth. Ugh. I'm glad my dog is a sweet little Bison that bites gently, and only if seriously needed.
Maybe the dog was spooked by the rollerblades?

Eesh, I'm sorry that happened. I love most dogs, but some are just...crazy. We have a springer spaniel named Sadie who s real sweet. But she's rather 'jealous' of other dogs if we pet them.

But it wasn't a crazy dog! He was amazing towards my dad, sisters, and cousins, but she hated me!

That's just nutty, I'm sorry that happened to you. My aunt and uncle hav e a rescue dog and it's will sometimes start barking at you for no reason; but its never tried to bite me.

Wow, that must have been really scary. I'm so sorry! That kind of thing has happened to me before, too. I like to wear perfume, and sometimes the scent can irritate a dog's nose and really upset them. So if you were wearing perfume when you met the dog, maybe that's the reason why it (he?) attacked you. Did you actually get hurt at all? I hope you're okay!

Yes, I agree with the admin. The dog was probably scared by the rollerblades. Oh, maybe you had a strange scent for the dog? Or, (A more stupid idea) the dog hated children?

@ Nora
I can't wear perfume; I'm allergic and don't like the smell.
@Danie
-My rollerblades were all the way across the park, and I was wearing sneakers.
-I smelled fine (I think)
-and the dog loved my cousins and sisters.
WEIRD!
And I have a small mark where the dog grazed my skin, but he didn't break the skin.

Oh my gosh! I would have freaked out if I had been in your place. Did the owner react to the dog attacking/lunging at you like that? Scary. I'm glad you weren't hurt by it!

I feel bad for you. I'm glad you weren't hurt.
I'm lucky, because my dog is a chihuahua/pug/terrier mix. He's only one foot tall, and my cat weighs more than him!!! He's really cool.

@ True
The owner sort of pulled at the leash, and the dog just kept pulling towards me.
