Summer Plans
So, I know that the school year is winding down for many of you, and that means summer is almost here! With days filled with no homework or school, there's lots more freedom to fill your days with things that you've been wanting to do but just haven't had the time to do. Do any of you have any fun or exciting summer plans or ideas?
This summer, I have lots of plans. There's a lot of things I have wanted to do this year, but haven't due to school.
* Learn: I know this sounds crazy, but I actually want to use the summer to learn some new things. I've always loved learning and like to use my summer to learn about subjects that aren't available to me in school. I'm not fully sure what I want to learn yet, but I'm tossing around some ideas.
* Read: This school year, I really haven't been able to read for fun as much as I would have liked, so I want to use the summer to read most of the books on my to-read list that I have been compiling throughout this year.
* Watch Movies: This is the same deal as with reading; I want to watch movies on my to-watch list.
* Volunteer: This year, I have really wanted to get involved in helping out at a center in my town for women. They need donations like blankets and clothes. I want to try to sew or knit some things for them. I also want to volunteer for teaching younger kids at Vacation Bible Schools in my area. I may also help out at the children programs at my library.
* Write: My goal this summer is to actually finish a draft of a novel. I don't know if this will work, but I hope so.
* Bike: One thing I love to do is bike. I go on bike rides a lot through trails in the woods. Last year, I biked 15 miles one afternoon, and this year, I want to see if I can make that 30. It's a long shot, but I believe I am capable of it.
* Youth Conference: This summer, I am also blessed enough to be able to go to a youth conference. These are always very exciting for me and this year especially so.
* Odds and Ends: I also have lots of other small, insignificant goals this summer and things I plan to do. I'm really looking forward to relaxing and enjoying this summer!

The awesome party of summer is beginning. Even though I am in school for a few more days, we are basically just having fun. We had a humungous dance party during carnival day yesterday. People were litterally bouncing off the walls. I have today off since they are finalizing the grades. No more grades for the next 3 school days! My TS concert is tomorrow. I will be on work crew at my summer camp. Then I will attend it. Jr. high orientations. Vacay. Amusement parks. There is many fun things. A lot of things I don't know about yet probably. It'll be awesome!

Learning: I'm planning to start reading actual books again- if anybody has any reccomendations that would be great. Also taking SAT subject tests on Saturday but that's early enough in the summer that it doesn't count.
Fitness: Tennis, which I haven't played since November. I got six blisters yesterday, which is why I'm not playing today. Any day I'm not working, I'm planning to go the practice group. Suprisingly, I didn't straight up miss any balls yesterday and the day before it. One of my friends groups is also super into ultimate frisbee and laptag, so anytime we meet up lots of running around is guaranteed.
Travel: I'm going to see a friend in New Orleans who I haven't seen in a year and a half, and I'm really excited. I'm flying by myself on the literal cheapest flight possible. My family and I are also going to Pennsylvania to visit family in late July.
Work: Ah, this. So much. I've got two jobs, one at the zoo and one at the public pools as a lifeguard, and so far scheduling has been a pain. But I mostly enjoy both of them, and I'm making money, so. I'm working 36 shift hours next week between the two, plus the twenty minutes before and thirty minutes (or more if it's a closing shift) after for each lifeguarding shift, and the thirty minutes at the end of each zoo shift. Sidenote: who is fica and why are they taking money away from my paycheck.
College: I'm going to complete all of the Common App and at the very least write first drafts of all of my essays. *rolls over* *cries* I'll probably do U of I's app because the deadlines are funny and MIT's.
Other: Camp Nanowrimo? Maybe? Possibly? I feel like I won't have time, but we'll see how it goes. Will I finally get around to HTML? Probably not. Will I cry when AP scores come in July? Definitely.
On the other hand, next year I only have to really care about my grades for one semester (six classes to go) and seniors finals like a full week before Memorial Day.

Let's see... Since I'm homeschooled, school has already ended, for reason below...
Volunteer: My local Humane Society is like a little slice of utopia, and it's even better with my friends.
Read: Yes, how very surprising. I plan to read.
Publish my book: My NaNo book still has the code, and I need to get it done soon.
Travel: This is why school's out early for me... Actually. Our trip has started already. But we haven't reached our destination. Right now, we're in an airport smaller than Meijer, and then flying for an hour, taking another plane, and then taking yet another plane to where we're going for two weeks. I'm really excited!
So those are my plans, and I can't wait for them to take action!

This summer is very, very packed. I'm learning guitar, so I'll continue that of course, and then there's drama camp and horseback riding and archery and and swimming - which reminds me, I have to save at least some time for the beach ... oh, and I'm taking some creative writing classes and will potentially end up doing Camp NaNo too. Then later, around August, my family and I will be staying in Massachusetts for probably a month or so (we have a vacation house there). All that on top of voice lessons, babysitting, PLUS I'm somehow expected to read two 500-page summer reading novels and to keep up with French?! Sometimes it seems like summer is more stressful than the actual school year!
(June 5, 2015 - 3:26 pm)
- Read 100 books. Yes, I want to do this. Graphic novels are counted (but only up to 10!). I am planning to begin it this Sunday. And if I read the book a second time, it doesn't count.
- That is actually my only goal for the summer.... but other things I want to do are:
- Convince my mom to cut my hair. My hair is about 3" under shoulder length. I want to cut it slightly above my shoulders.
- Swim. I want to learn how to swim this summer. Yes, I don't know how. I did about 2 years ago, but my skills wore off. I can't even doggie paddle!
And then there are the normak things, like being hot, being hot, and.... being hot. :P
(June 5, 2015 - 4:24 pm)
Learn - I'm required to do a page or so every weekday of Algebra I, but in top of that, am hoping to use Kahn Academy to get a boost on nest year's Algebra II and to review plane geometry, and Algebra I (the algebra is where I'll need it. I find geometry so easy compared to algebra.) I'm also planning to use Duolingo to improve my French in the summer, and maybe start Spanish (and if they ever get it, Japanese). I'll be going through the Psycology section in the library a lot, for fun. And I probably should finish that Literature with LotR schoolbook . . .
Fitness - I will still be having fun doing karate through the summer, and I'm hoping to use my bike a lot more this summer, both just to take a spin, and as transportation (now to convince my parents of the latter . . . )
Volunteering - I promised to make a few baby hats with some yarn someone donated for charity - I still have to get a round to that (Any crocheters there get the unintended pun?). I'll be volunteering at my libary's Summer Reading Program - and if this year's anything like last year, that'll take care of a lot of my weekdays. I might do a few things at nursing homes with some of my friends, but it's not certian yet.
Reading - Summer Reading Program means I ahev to time my Rreading - I'm seriously tempted to quit just because of that annoyance. And the fact that I start to realize how much I actually read - I think today's already five something hours and one year, my average was three and a half hours a da. Get a life, True.
Writing - Camp Nano in July, hopefully sending a few of my stories off (I doubt anything will come of that, but you might as well try!) and hopefully a few RPs.
Others - A lot of others. Such as convince my dad and Butterfly to watch the LotR trilogy so I can see how it ends (Because we were watching it in class and couldn't manage to watch all of the third and last one before the term was over.). And fiddle around with the idea of a denim jeans vest and a crochet newsboy cap. Among other things.
(June 5, 2015 - 5:55 pm)
Fitness: I want to bike more and do some climbing of trees and poles. I'm also supposed to take swimming lessons right after I get out of school, because I litterally cannot float or ANYTHING.
Reading: Yep, I'm going to do some reading this summer. I'm planning on finishing up Harry Potter and I have a lot of other books to read. Also, having read through the posts, I may do the 100 Books Challenge.
Writing: Hoping to catch up on RPs and stories and also on CBers VS Zombies.
Learning: I want to learn French (using Duolingo ), and my sister is planning on tutoring me on some various stuff to polish things up, and get me ready for Sixth Grade.
Other: I've got a season pass to an amusement park and I'm hoping to give it some more use. I'd like to go with one of my friends who is very nice unlike a good deal of my so-called friends. I also want to persadue my parents to let me get a blog.
(June 5, 2015 - 8:55 pm)
Read- Enough said.
CB- again, enough said.
Summer camp- I'm going to about three or four.
Fantasizing- Because I'm crazy.
Writing down fantasies- because some are downright funny.
Gravity Falls- GRRRR WHY MUST YOU TORTURE ME ALEX HIRSCH
Helping Bill Cipher take over the world- Um, nothing! That was nothing!

Hi guys, I'm back! I'v been gone for a little bit.
Didya miss me?
Anyway, this summer, I'm going to a couple camps, then I'm going on a trip to Seattle then a road trip to the mountains. My cousin is coming to visit, and I'm going to the pool a lot. That's about it.
P.S. It's good to be back! I missed you guys. Fill me in on anything that happened while I was gone.
(June 11, 2015 - 3:32 pm)
Learn: I'm doing French on duolingo every day, and I'm trying to keep my streak up. I also have to do about 30 minutes of Russian Math and Russian Literature every day.
Read: I've finally made a reading list, and I'm looking forward to reading a lot of books on it. I'd also like to be one of the top three on our school's summer reading program, but I doubt that will happen, since I read a lot of classics with complicated vocabulary, and rarely get through more than 30 per summer.
Write: I'm hoping to write some more stories and poems, and maybe even a novel.
Camps: I'm going to an overnight camp, and a Shakespeare acting camp.
Travell: I'm visiting my cousins in Illinois.
Letters: My friend and I are doing a Daddy-Long-Legs letter exchange, which is super fun.
Planning and organising: I'll be planning 8th grade. A lot.
Odds and ends: I'm looking forward to just relaxing. Lying around by the pool... That sort of stuff.
Yay! Summer!
Bobble says meez. Yes, youz, Booble. You'll be relang too?
