So guys, I know that this is starting in July or something, but I need someone to explain to me what this is. From what I have gathered, it is where you write a 50,000 letter novel in a month, and it's going to start soon. I don't have a user, but I am thinking of joining if it sounds like it will work out for me. Please, enlighten me!

NaNo is National Novel Writing Month. It takes place in November. You write a 50,000 word novel. In April and July, Camp NaNoWriMo takes place. This is the same, except you are in a cabin and you get advice and things from your cabinmates. You have to start the novel from the beginning on the first of the month. There is also YWP, which is the "kid" version. In this you write a 30,000 word novel. This is for 12 and under. YWP does not have a camp. I am on this. I am random_singer.ellie if you would like to add me as a writing buddy. NaNoWriMo or the "adult" site is 13 and up.

My novel is already more than 50,000 words long and it took about two months to get that far. No, I do not know what NaNoWriMo is and have never been a part of it.
