Is it my

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Is it my

Is it my fault?

I'm rather new on the CB, but recently I've seen posts from old CBers who are leaving or commenting on how the Chatterbox has changed. I've seen that people say that a few of the main differences are the excessive use of caps and exclamation marks (like my new alter ego DNA uses) and the recent influx of new people. Then I saw a post where a few alter egos were going nuts, you know, doing their alter ego thing, and other people were saying that they were the reason that all these valued CBers left. This made me feel like if was partly my fault and it's haunted me ever since... so, is it my fault?

Don't act like you're the only one with an alter ego. There are a lot of other ones, too.

:/ you are NOT helping. In fact you have just significantly lowered my opinion of the Chatterbox. I thought I could actually TALK to people here, but right now it's proving to be a lot like the real world. *stalks off*

Agent I am NOT crying.

I cannot speak for anyone but myself but since when has that stopped me?

First off, speaking for myself: No way are you in any way responsible for the stuff going on with me right now. You weren't responsible for our initial leaving nor the situation now.

Speaking about the other peeps: The way I see it is that life is going to grow and change no matter what people do. People's interests are going to change as people grow up. And it's not like returning the CB to its former state is going to do much good. Because the year 2012 was 2012 and this is the year 2015. The past is the past and it can't come back.

If someone tells you to stop doing something because it's bothering them, then stop. That's kind of the extent with the issues of the alter egos, right? People asked for containment and they were contained to threads for them. Seems like a job well done. (I sound like Kennan right now. :P)

Seems to me like kids grow up and they would have left anyway. I don't think you're being an issue. You've done a lot of cool things here so just go ahead and continue with that. Don't worry if not everyone likes you or you get into arguments with someone or the Admins censor your posts- all that has happened to just about everybody.

I wouldn't worry, in other words. You're doing well. Be yourself and have fun, okay? You're not responsible for catering to other people's ideas of fun. It's your Chatterbox too, just as much as anyone elses. So have fun.

Somebody, I think you have been an awesome addition to the CB. Some of the alter-ego things have gone over the edge, but please don't feel like you're one of those.

Dear Somebody,

It's not your fault. I just think you shouldn't try to use your alter egos as much because, well, it hurts my feelings.

I just woke up. Now I want to cry. This problem was almost forgotten. Somebody, it isn't anyone's fault. It just how this world is. Please don't feel bad. Everyone, let's forget and move on. =)

I don't want to sound anti alter ego, but I personally get confused when people have like three alter eagos and I don't know who I'm talking to, but I definitely don't think it's your fault.

I agree, Forrest. It can really make things confusing. It was okay when Agent was just AROUND, but then she started to want to be queen and stuff. And DNA seems like a copy of Piester or BLASTER.

DNA was inspired by Piester, Blaster and Candy KING. And Agent... I am not really sure on where she stands on the queen thing anymore. I think it's just a phase.

I really don't think it was anyone's fault.

It's just that the old CBers grew up, and so they left. Now we've come along, and the CB has changed. But everything changes, right? I mean, think about it.

Let me give you an example: my brother. For a while, he just wasn't interested in Harry Potter. But then, out of the blue, he starts to read it again, and BANG! he's done!

And whatever happens, PLEASE don't take it on yourself, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't leave. I feel embarrassed saying this, but I think you're my favorite CBer.

Yeah. So, don't take it on yourself. It's just time.

P.S: What Red said.

I'm flattered that you think of me as your favorite CBer. I mean, I would be blushing right now. Except I am one of those people who cannot blush. :)

I'm personally a bit annoyed. Not by alter-egos, but by.... I don't really know. When older cbers leave but we're just being ourselves. Also the terms "old" and "new". I'm 10. I've been on over half a year. That's like an eighteenth of my life. I may not have been on as long as some people, but I haven't lived as long as some people, so 9 months or however long it's been is pretty impressive for me. I have no attention span at all. Sometimes I have no time at all. But I still go on Cricket. Of course it's fun and all, but when people call other people "new" and "old", it makes me want to scream. All of us were new at one point and all of us were young and immature. Some of us still are. Don't rub it in our faces. We're just younger. If you want cb to have older more mature people on it don't leave. Some of you I understand why you had to leave. College, family, etc. I get that. But don't just leave because we're too crazy. If you stay you can make it less crazy! And I've spent about nine months coming on here, talking to you guys, writing, etc. so don't call me a newbie. I hate that. You were new once too! One eighteenth of my life!! That's a lot! Please people. @Somebody, I feel like it's my fault too. I probably didn't make anything better, but this is just how I feel when people dedicate their free time to you and you label them "newbies" Not to be rude. Not to point it at anyone in particular.

Sometimes a girl's just gotta rant.

Also, I don't think that "new CB" = "less crazy". Like, Red? Not crazy? Not really.

And I know that I've been on here even less than a lot of you, and I agree -- it's your CB. They left, they left. People left for all sorts of reasons: Mag Fan left because she'd never told her parents, Everinne left because she had to go to college. It's not because you -- we -- all of us -- are too crazy. CB is always crazy, just in different ways. It's going to be fun, no matter what.

Good grief, you have nothing to worry about! It wasn't your fault at all.
