NAME ORIGINS!!!

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

NAME ORIGINS!!!

NAME ORIGINS!!!

So what's the origin of your name? I know I have a long (and slightly complicated) one!

So once I took a patronus test-- um, actually, more like four of them. Twice I got a stag and twice I got an owl. And I couldn't choose which one I wanted more as a patronus. So I made up a new creature-- a stowl.

Okay, so a stowl is basically a creature with a head of an owl's, but with stag horns; a stag body, but wings. Just in case you were curious.

Then I decided I would use that as my nickname, because it's pretty cool. My nickname on Pottermore, that is. But the Pottermore Code of Conduct woudn't let me put "stowl", so I simplified it like this: St.owl.

So for a while I went around being Stowl. Then once I told my mom what my nickname was and how I abbreviated it. And she said, "that sounds like 'St.Owl'.", and it stuck.

What about you guys?

My name has a pretty simple story. I love nature, love animals, etc. I originally had my name be EarthGirl13 because 13 is my luky number. But I shortened it to EarthGirl.

Well....

MapleSyurp for a few reasons

• The Maple Tree is my Druid Horiscope.

• I ADORE pancakes and waffles.

• I am Sorta obsessed with Canada.

• I love the Maple Leaf design.

•MapleSyurp started out as my Gamer Tag for Xbox then for a Club SAVVY44x and I have, so I adopted that as my name for everything.

Mine is pretty down-to-earth. My real name is Arianne, and the first syllable is pronounced like Air. So... that's my name! Some of my best friends do call me that.

I wasn't planning to be a regular, and Somebody seemed sufficient for a few rare posts. But then I saw the magic of the CB and Somebody... I just didn't change it.

I took a Patronus test TWICE and once I got a stag and the other time, a TOAD. But I decided that stags are a bit cliche, and Gryffindor-y, but toads are wise (kinda) and patient. So guess which one I chose.

I chose my name based on a person that I really admire: St. Therese the Little Flower. She's always been a role model of mine, so I thought that I might as well take a form of her name as my CB name. Plus, I like the sound of the name. It means "late summer" and "harvester".

Hotairballoon: Ever heard of Owl City? You'll get it.

Spyro: His is slightly more interesting. He's a purple dragon from the Skylanders series that I had become attracted to (not in THAT way). He's got ram horns and breathes fire. I figured I would make an alter ego out of him, considering his personality is basically my opposite.

My CB name is actually my nickname. Everyone calls me Will, but my real name is William. Willow tree and Princess Pony are my nicknames. Yes, I'm a guy, but my nickname is still princess pony.
