Middle School

Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Middle School

Middle School

This is ironic as there is a thread for high school and college, but anyway: I'm entering middle school next fall and this my first switch between schools. Any advice? What are your experiences with middle school?

I too can't wait for middle school next year. In my case it's called jr. high, but I still can't wait. I'm still enjoying this year, though. I'm going to DC in May, standardized tests are next month (I love them because they use Cricket stories, I don't have any homework, and I get dessert!), my school talent show is next month, and there's a Taylor Swift concert in June, plus summer is always fun. But in jr. high I will meet bunches of new people, have study hall, have like at least 8 or so different teachers, have an activity period with a bunch of fun stuff, and probably other stuff I don't even know about yet. So that's cool. Sorry if U blabbed on there.

...excited? I'm pretty creeped out. I've heard it's reaaally tough! Plus, where I live we have to do all of these applications and tests and stuff so that we can get into school, then you have to pick one! And I still don't know where I want to go!

I am in sixth grade already.

TIPS:

1) Don't get a lot of locker decorations. The lockers are probably small.

2) People always say that you can get lost really easily between classes. Based on my experiences, the schedules are very specific about where it is, and the teachers always will give you directions if you need help.

3) Don't freak out. It is not that bad!

4) Be prepared to deal with kissy-kissy mwah-mwah 'i love u' stuff.

5) Also, don't tell on people for cursing. If I got a quarter for every time I heard someone curse, I would be rich. So basically saying, people curse so much, I wouldn't waste my time telling on them.

Don't worry. You'll be fine!

EarthGirl's right, people curse a lot. Avoid cursing. Some other 6th graders I don't even know that well curse all the time. Don't curse.

I'm in middle school right now, and I'v got a few experiences to share. When I was in 5th grade, I was mighty excited. you know, of switching classes, lockers, and new friends. I thought I would always get straight As... Boy, I was wrong.

Middle school is a bit hard in the first year. I was always told that 7th grade was  the easiest, as 6th is when you start, and 8th is when you end. And I didn't get straight As. I was a bit stressed out.

But I met TONS of new people! One of them is now my bestie.

I also like having a different class every hour or so in school. And you actually get to pick your classes too!

So middle school has it's bads and goods.

When I started middle school, my homework seemed heavier! Okay, I am homeschooled, but I go to Excelsior academy once a week. Everyone is nice there, and besides all the homework, I enjoy it!

Middle school is awesome! You have a lot more classes and a break time to talk to friends! We don't have recess, though, but Gym class is a lot better! I'm in Jr. High and I love it!

I'm in 7th grade, and like other people said, there is a lot of cursing. I'm one of maybe 10 people who don't curse at all, lol.

But seriously, Middle School is pretty tough. Your first few weeks will be kind of hectic if your school is anything like mine, but once you get into the swing of things, it's not so bad.

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure all of us have read books about this stuff. We should be cool if we know what to expect.

Yuck I have enough cursing in my ears already.

Tell me, is middle school the year that people start becoming stereotypes and groups and all that? Especially because...some people are already doing it.
