On Bookbug's religion thread, you responded to S.E.'s question about the difference between denominations. I thought I might clear up some of the incorrect things you said about Catholics, since I am one. First off, you said that we pray to Mary - what we do is we ask her to pray for us, just as any Christian might ask a family member or friend to pray for them. She is not equal to God and we don't worship her.

Second, you said that you think we recite things. Well, from now on you can KNOW: we do. We recite prayers such as the Our Father, the Hail Mary, and the prayers of our liturgy. Thirdly, you are also correct in saying that priests wear 'robes', but they're called vestments. Also, you said that Catholics are 'sort of like us'. By 'us' I gathered that you meant Christians, but Catholics ARE Christians, and we go all the way back to Peter, who was the first pope. We believe that Christ is the Messiah, and place our hope for salvation in Him. I don't mean to be rude, but instead to gently correct. G'bye! -
