Does anyone here
Does anyone here know anything about stocks? I've tried researching it, but my mind is reeling from all the complicated terms.
Could someone PLEASE explain it to me?
You could look for information for children about money, economics, investing at a library. My basic, unprofessional understanding is that when you buy stock, you are buying shares in the ownership of a company. When the company does well and makes money, the value of your stock rises or you are paid dividends. If the company does not do well and loses money, then your stock may be worth less than what you paid for it. History says that over time, stocks generally will earn money. You just can't be scared and sell your shares when the value falls, but should stay with them for a long time. Of course some stocks are riskier than others. There are financial advisers who make a living teaching others about investing in the stock market.
